 Around 4.40 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the examination to qualify for teaching positions in primary (Classes 1–5) and upper primary (Classes 6–8) schools. Over 1,000 examination centres are being set up across various districts to accommodate all applicants safely.

The Jharkhand Academic Council has finalized the schedule for the upcoming teacher eligibility test. District authorities have been working on finalising designated centres to ensure complete preparation before the test day.

• Submission of Centre Reports: District authorities submitted their center allocation reports by August 31.

• Admit Card Release: The hall tickets will be made available online on the official JAC portal 10 to 12 days before the test.

• Written Examination: The exam will be held on October 11, 2026, in two separate shifts for Level 1 and Level 2.

• Result Declaration: JAC plans to complete the evaluation process and announce the official results in December 2026.

JTET 2026 Eligibility and Exam Levels

JTET 2026 examination is divided into two distinct levels based on the teaching categories:

• Level 1 (Primary Teacher): Designed for candidates aiming to teach Classes 1 to 5. Applicants must have completed Senior Secondary with a recognised Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

• Level 2 (Upper Primary Teacher): Designed for candidates aiming to teach Classes 6 to 8. Applicants must hold a relevant Graduation degree along with a D.El.Ed or B.Ed qualification.

Candidates can download their hall ticket a few days prior to the examination by logging in with their registration number and date of birth or password. Carrying a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID to the exam hall is mandatory.
