Candidates who have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in either their Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, or Humanities are eligible to apply. For SEBC, SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the required percentage is 45%.
Additionally, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology (B.Tech.) or any equivalent qualification with a specialization in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Mathematics, must have at least 55% marks overall. For SEBC, SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the minimum aggregate requirement is 50%.

Applicants are advised to follow the outlined steps to apply for admission to B.Ed. courses through the SAMS portal. They must complete the Common Application Form (CAF) by providing the necessary information and submit it online to ensure their application is processed correctly and efficiently.
Step 1: Go to www.samsodisha.gov.in and click on the “B.Ed., B.H.Ed., and M.Ed.” link under the Higher Education Department.
Step 2: Click on the "New Student Registration" button. Fill in your name, mobile number, email address, and date of birth in the provided fields.
Step 3: Click on the "Generate OTP" button. You will receive a six-digit OTP on your mobile, which is valid for 5 minutes. Enter this OTP in the box on the screen.
Step 4: Set a password and confirm it. The password must include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one digit, and one special character (e.g., Abcd@1234).
Step 5: After successful registration, use your username and password to log in to your student account.
Step 6: Before filling out the Common Application Form (CAF), check the eligibility criteria for the B.Ed. course.
Step 7: After logging in, click on the “Application Form” button. A pop-up will ask if you want to use Digi-Locker data to auto-fill the form.
Step 8: If you select “Yes,” your demographic data and any available income or residence certificates will be automatically filled in the form. If you select “No,” you will need to fill out the form manually.
Step 9: You must enter your Aadhaar number in the required field. You will also need to provide your APAAR ID.
Step 10: Make sure to select your date of birth, social category, and stream accurately. Also, choose the district for your examination center carefully.
Step 11: You will be informed about your eligibility for various scholarship schemes based on the information you provide in the CAF. It’s recommended to include your residence and income details and upload any required certificates, even if it’s not mandatory.
Step 12: If you didn’t upload your certificates while filling out the CAF, you can do so during the choice-locking period as per the timeline provided.
Step 13: After submitting your application, pay the required CAF fee online. Once the payment is successful, click on the “Print CAF” button on the left side of the dashboard to print your application for future reference.
Step 14: You can choose between 5 to 30 preferences for your desired institutions.
