OSSTET Exam Date 2026

The OSSTET 2026 examination is scheduled for September 30, 2026. The test will be conducted in a single day. Both Paper-I and Paper-II will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Candidates are advised to reach their designated test centres well before the scheduled reporting time.

OSSTET Eligibility Criteria 2026

OSSTET Eligibility Criteria 2026 includes multiple requirements like citizenship, language ability, and educational qualification, as mentioned in the official notification. 

• Citizenship: Must be a citizen of India.

• Language Ability: Must be able to read and write Odia. Candidates should have passed HSC or higher examinations with Odia as a language subject.

• Educational Qualification (Category-I): Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Science with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PH/SEBC) and B.Ed. degree from a recognised university.

• Educational Qualification (Category-II): +2 examination pass with C.P.Ed./D.P.Ed./B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed. qualification.

• Final year students appearing in training courses are also eligible to apply.

OSSTET Selection Process 2026

OSSTET Selection Process 2026 consists of a written eligibility test. OSSTET is only a qualifying exam and does not guarantee job placement directly.

• Candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks to get the pass certificate.

• General Category candidates need at least 45% marks (68 out of 150) to pass.

• SC/ST/PH/SEBC candidates need at least 35% marks (53 out of 150) to pass.

• Passed candidates receive an OSSTET Pass Certificate, which remains valid until they reach the upper age limit for teacher recruitment.

OSSTET 2026 Syllabus 

OSSTET 2026 Syllabus covers four major sections: 

• Section I: Odia Language (Compulsory).

• Section II: English Language (Compulsory).

• Section III: Subject-specific topics based on TGT Arts, TGT Science (PCM/CBZ), Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu, Urdu, or Physical Education.

• Section IV: Child Development, Pedagogy, School Management, and Evaluation.

OSSTET 2026 Exam Pattern includes the information regarding the question type, total marks, total questions, marking scheme, and paper-wise breakdown. 

• Question Type: Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

• Total Marks: 150 marks per paper.

• Total Questions: 150 questions.

• Marking Scheme: 1 mark is awarded for each correct answer.

• Negative Marking: No negative marks for wrong answers.

• Paper-I Breakdown: Section I (20 marks), Section II (20 marks), Section III (60 marks), Section IV (50 marks).

• Paper-II Breakdown: Section I (20 marks), Section II (20 marks), Section III (60 marks), Section IV (50 marks).

OSSTET 2026 Admit Card

OSSTET 2026 Admit Card will be released on September 20, 2026. Candidates can download their admit card by visiting the official portal. The admit card contains key details such as the candidate's name, roll number, exam centre location, and instructions. Bringing a printed copy of the admit card to the examination hall is compulsory.
