Educational qualifications are the most important part of TG TET eligibility. The required qualifications ensure that candidates have adequate knowledge and training to teach at the desired level.
For Paper I (Primary Level: Classes I–V):
Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent with at least 50% marks.
They should also have completed or be in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
Relaxation of 5% in marks is given to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and differently-abled categories.
For Paper II (Upper Primary Level: Classes VI–VIII):
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com) with at least 50% marks.
They should also possess a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or be in the final year of the B.Ed course.
Relaxation in marks applies to reserved categories as per Telangana government rules.
Telangana’s Department of School Education has set specific age requirements for the TG TET 2026 exam. The minimum age to apply is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 44 years as of the notification date.

SC/ST/BC candidates: 5 years of relaxation.
Physically handicapped candidates: 10 years of relaxation.
Ex-servicemen: As per the service rules applicable in Telangana.
