UP LT Grade Computer exam pattern for 2025 consists of two stages: Preliminary and Mains. The Preliminary exam is objective in nature with 150 questions—30 questions on General Studies and 120 questions focused on Computer Science. Each question carries 2 marks, totaling 300 marks, with a duration of 2 hours. There is negative marking of 0.33 marks for each incorrect answer to encourage accuracy. Candidates need to secure a minimum of 35% marks for SC/ST and 40% for other categories to qualify.
Those who clear the prelims become eligible for the Mains exam, which is descriptive. The Mains paper comprises 20 compulsory questions divided into two sections: 10 short answer questions worth 8 marks each and 10 long answer questions worth 12 marks each, making a total of 200 marks to be completed within 3 hours.
This format tests both conceptual understanding and the ability to articulate detailed responses in Computer Science, ensuring candidates are well-prepared for teaching roles in Uttar Pradesh government schools.
