According to Advertisement No. 06/2026, a total of 2,607 PGT vacancies have been announced for various subjects in boys' and girls' schools.

The UP PGT 2026 application process will begin on 18 September 2026 through the OTR-based online application system. The last date to deposit the application fee is 17 October 2026, while candidates can make corrections in their applications up to 21 October 2026. The UP PGT 2026 written examination is scheduled for 15 and 16 December 2026.

UP PGT Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must fulfil the prescribed eligibility and subject-wise educational qualifications for the PGT post for which they are applying. The notification provides separate educational qualifications for each subject.

UP PGT Exam Centre 2026

The UPESSC will determine examination centres as required, generally at district headquarters. Candidates may be allotted any examination centre by the Commission.

The district information is expected to be provided 10 days before the examination, while the specific examination-centre information is to be provided 3 days before the examination through the prescribed communication/admit-card process.

Candidates must appear at the centre mentioned on their admit card. Appearing at a different centre or for a different subject can result in cancellation of the candidature and non-evaluation of the answer sheet.

UP PGT Admit Card 2026

The UP PGT Admit Card 2026 will be made available through the official UPESSC website when the Commission releases the download notification.

Candidates will be able to download the admit card through the “Admit Card Download” option on the Commission's website by entering the required registration/mobile number and date of birth. Information regarding the admit card will also be communicated through the prescribed channels.

UP PGT Interview 2026

Candidates shortlisted for the interview will be informed about the interview date, time and venue through SMS, email, newspapers and the UPESSC website.

The interview carries 40 marks and shortlisted candidates must appear for the interview. The interview information will be provided at least 10 days before the scheduled interview, as stated in the notification.

Candidates appearing for the interview will also be required to bring the prescribed self-attested copies and original documents for verification.

These include educational certificates and marksheets, application form copies, applicable category certificates, disability certificate where applicable, NOC for serving candidates and other documents specified in the notification.

Documents Required for UP PGT Interview

Candidates shortlisted for the interview should keep the required documents ready, including:

  • Self-attested copies of the online application form

  • High School marksheet and certificate

  • Intermediate marksheet and certificate

  • Graduation marksheets and degree

  • B.Ed. marksheet and degree

  • Postgraduate marksheets and degree

  • NOC, where applicable

  • Category certificate, where applicable

  • EWS certificate, where applicable

  • Ex-serviceman certificate, where applicable

  • Disability certificate, where applicable

  • Affidavit/declaration as prescribed

  • Character certificate

  • Other documents specified by the Commission

The notification requires candidates to bring the relevant original documents along with the prescribed self-attested copies for verification at the interview.

UP PGT Reservation 2026

Reservation will be provided according to the applicable Uttar Pradesh rules and the vacancy requisition supplied by the Directorate of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh.

The notification provides category-wise vacancy information for SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates. The EWS reservation provisions apply to eligible candidates as specified under the relevant Uttar Pradesh legislation.

Candidates belonging to reserved categories must provide the prescribed certificates. The notification also states that candidates claiming reservation benefits must meet the applicable Uttar Pradesh domicile requirements for those benefits. Candidates from reserved categories who are not domiciled in Uttar Pradesh will be treated as General category candidates for the relevant reservation benefits.

  • The application form has to be filled in English.

  • Candidates must verify all information before final submission.

  • Certain personal details cannot be changed after final submission.

  • Only one application is valid for each subject and school category.

  • If multiple applications are submitted for the same subject and category, the latest application will be considered and earlier applications will be cancelled.

  • Female candidates can apply for both boys' and girls' schools but must select one category while filling the application.

  • Candidates must meet all prescribed educational qualifications by the last date of application acceptance.

  • The application fee once paid will not be refunded.

  • Candidates should preserve copies of the submitted application form and fee receipt.

  • Candidates must use a black ball-point pen for the OMR answer sheet.

  • Any alteration or use of prohibited materials on the OMR sheet can result in non-evaluation of the answer sheet.
