UPTET 2026 Exam Day Instructions: Reporting Time, Documents to Carry, Dress Code & Important Guidelines

UPTET 2026 Exam Day Instructions are now available along with the admit card. Candidates appearing on 2, 3, and 4 July 2026 must reach the exam centre before gate closing time, carry valid documents, avoid prohibited items, and follow all UPESSC guidelines.

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the UPTET 2026 admit card on 30 June 2026. Along with the hall ticket, the commission has also issued detailed UPTET 2026 Exam Day Instructions that every candidate must follow on the examination day.

The UPTET 2026 will be conducted in two shifts across 38 examination centres in Uttar Pradesh. Paper 2 will be held on 2 and 3 July 2026, while Paper 1 is scheduled for 3 and 4 July 2026.

UPTET 2026 Reporting Time and Gate Closing Time

Candidates must report well before the examination begins. According to the official instructions, entry to the examination centre will close 45 minutes before the start of the exam. After the gates close, no candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall under any circumstances.

To avoid last-minute rush, candidates should try to reach the exam centre at least one hour before the reporting time mentioned on their admit card.

Documents to Carry for UPTET 2026 Exam

Candidates must bring the following documents to the examination centre:

  • Printed copy of UPTET 2026 Admit Card

  • Original photo identity proof

  • One photocopy of the ID proof

  • Three recent passport-size photographs

Accepted photo IDs include:

  • Aadhaar Card

  • PAN Card

  • Voter ID

  • Driving Licence

  • Government-issued Identity Card

Candidates whose admit card mentions "e-KYC Required at Exam Centre" must carry the original Aadhaar Card for verification.

UPTET 2026 Exam Day Instructions: Important Guidelines

Candidates should strictly follow these instructions on the examination day:

  • Carry a printed copy of the admit card.

  • Reach the examination centre before gate closing time.

  • Verify your exam centre location in advance.

  • Cooperate with security checks and biometric verification.

  • Follow all instructions issued by the invigilators.

  • Remain seated until permitted to leave the examination hall.

  • Carefully fill all details on the OMR sheet before submitting it.

Items Allowed Inside the Examination Centre

Candidates are permitted to carry only essential items such as:

  • Printed admit card

  • Original photo ID proof

  • Three passport-size photographs

  • Black ballpoint pen

  • Plain clipboard or hardboard without any writing

  • Transparent water bottle

Prohibited Items in UPTET 2026 Exam

Candidates must not carry any of the following items inside the examination hall:

  • Mobile phones

  • Smart watches or wrist watches

  • Bluetooth devices

  • Earphones

  • Calculators

  • Tablets or laptops

  • Pen drives

  • Hard disks

  • ATM cards

  • Graph sheets

  • Notes or study material

  • Electronic gadgets

  • Any metallic electronic device

Candidates found carrying prohibited items may face cancellation of candidature and disciplinary action.

OMR Sheet Instructions

Since UPTET is an OMR-based examination, candidates should follow these instructions carefully:

  • Use only a black ballpoint pen.

  • Darken the circles completely.

  • Do not use whitener, eraser, or blade.

  • Fill all required details correctly.

  • Ensure the booklet number is entered accurately on the OMR sheet.

  • Do not detach the answer sheet yourself after the exam.

Is There Negative Marking in UPTET 2026?

No. According to the official instructions, there is no negative marking for incorrect answers in UPTET 2026.

However:

  • Each question has four options.

  • Marking more than one option for a question will be treated as an incorrect response.

Candidates with Disabilities (PwD) Guidelines

UPESSC has issued special provisions for eligible PwD candidates.

Eligible candidates can avail:

  • Scribe facility

  • Compensatory time (20 minutes per hour)

  • Ground-floor seating arrangement wherever possible

Candidates using these facilities must carry:

  • Disability certificate

  • Original photo ID

  • Two passport-size photographs

The facility is available only as per the prescribed government guidelines.

Unfair Means Can Lead to Strict Action

Candidates are advised not to indulge in any unfair practices during the examination.

Under the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, offences such as cheating, impersonation, unauthorized disclosure of question papers, or using unfair means can attract severe penalties, including heavy fines and imprisonment.

  • Download and print multiple copies of your admit card.

  • Visit the exam centre a day before if possible.

  • Keep all required documents ready the previous night.

  • Sleep well before the exam day.
