
The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has successfully concluded the UPTET Exam 2026 conducted between July 2 and July 4, 2026, for both Primary (Classes 1–5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6–8) levels.
According to the official press release issued on July 4, 2026, a total of 19,94,661 candidates registered, out of which 17,70,714 candidates appeared, resulting in an impressive overall attendance of 88.77%. The examination was conducted under strict security with AI-enabled surveillance, 955 examination centres, and continuous monitoring through an AI Integrated Control Command Room.

The commission reported a high participation rate throughout the three-day examination. Out of nearly 20 lakh registered candidates, more than 17.70 lakh appeared for the examination.

The high attendance reflects the significant interest among aspiring teachers seeking eligibility for teaching positions in Uttar Pradesh government schools.
The attendance remained above 87% for both examination levels.

The Primary Level examination recorded the highest attendance of 91.12%, while the Upper Primary examination registered an attendance of 87.25%.

On July 4, 2026 (First Shift), the examination was held at 955 examination centres across Uttar Pradesh.

The commission stated that the examination concluded peacefully with proper arrangements and uninterrupted monitoring.
UPESSC stated that the examination was supervised through an AI Integrated Control Command Room, where senior officials continuously monitored all examination centres. The commission also appointed 60 observers, including senior administrative officers and police officials, who regularly inspected examination centres to ensure adherence to the prescribed guidelines.
To ensure transparency and prevent unfair practices, UPESSC deployed AI-based surveillance software, AI-enabled cameras, and a centralized AI Integrated Control Command Room.
After verification using AI technology, authorities detected 44 impersonation (dummy candidate) cases during the examination.

In addition, one candidate was caught attempting to cheat using a mobile phone during the examination on July 3, 2026. The commission confirmed that all accused individuals have been handed over to the local police for further legal action.
