UPTET Exam Date 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is one of the most important qualifying examinations for aspiring teachers in Uttar Pradesh. Conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPSESSB), the exam is mandatory for candidates seeking teaching positions in government schools across the state.
As per earlier notifications, the UPTET exam was scheduled for 29 and 30 January 2026. However, the examination has not been conducted on these dates, and no final decision has been announced so far. The revised exam date for UPTET 2026 will be released soon on the official website of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPSESSB).
Based on current updates and previous examination timelines, it appears unlikely that the UPTET exam will be conducted before March 2026. The selection commission generally requires a minimum of three months to complete preparations such as application processing, exam centre allocation, and security arrangements. Therefore, it is expected that the exam may be held after March, once other major examinations are concluded.
Although the official new exam date has not yet been announced, UPTET 2026 is tentatively expected to be conducted between March and April 2026. This estimate is based on past trends, the current administrative workload, and the commission’s examination calendar. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website for the latest updates.
(Due to Administrative and Technical Reasons)
The postponement of the UPTET exam can be attributed to several key factors:
Ongoing events such as the Magh Mela in January, affecting administrative arrangement
UP Board examinations scheduled in February and March, limiting exam slot availability
Requirement of at least three months of preparation time to ensure smooth, fair, and transparent conduct of the exam
These factors have made it difficult for the commission to conduct the exam as per the earlier proposed schedule.
Candidates should continue their preparation without waiting for the final exam date announcement. This extended period can be effectively used to revise the syllabus, strengthen weak areas, and practice previous years’ question papers. Aspirants should also keep visiting the official UPSESSB website regularly for authentic updates and avoid relying on unofficial sources or rumours.
