AP SET Educational Qualification 2026
The eligibility criteria for AP SET 2026 require candidates to possess specific qualifications. Candidates must have completed a Master's degree from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate percentage of marks. Here is an overview of AP SET Educational Qualification 2026.
- Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities and Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc., are eligible for this Test.
- Backward Classes (BC)/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disability (PwD)/Third gender category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s degree or equivalent examination are also eligible.
- Candidates pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course, or those who have appeared for their final year examination with results awaited, may apply provisionally. However, they must pass their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of the SET result with the required percentage of marks.
- Candidates belonging to the Third gender category are eligible for the same relaxation in fee, age, and Eligibility Criteria for SET as available to SC/ST/PwD categories.
- Ph.D. degree holders with completed Master’s level examination by 19 September 1991 are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
- Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation only. Those whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of SET subjects may appear in UGC-NET/Joint CSIR-UGC Test.
- Candidates with a post-graduate diploma/certificate awarded by an Indian University/Institute or foreign degree/diploma/certificate awarded by a foreign University/institute should ascertain the equivalence of their diploma/degree/certificate with Master’s degree of recognized Indian universities from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
- Candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship/Assistant Professorship held prior to 1st June 2002 are exempted from appearing in NET and are eligible to apply for the post of Lecturer/Assistant Professor anywhere in India.
