The Assam SLET cut off for 2025 is influenced by several factors, including the number of candidates, the difficulty level of the exam, and the overall performance of test-takers. These factors directly impact eligibility for the Assistant Professor position, as candidates must meet the cut-off marks to qualify for further selection processes.
The total number of candidates appearing for the exam plays a crucial role in determining the cut-off marks.
The overall difficulty level of the exam can greatly impact the cut-off. If the exam is particularly challenging, it may result in lower average scores among candidates, thereby leading to a lower cut-off. Conversely, an easier exam may raise the cut-off as more candidates achieve higher marks.
The collective performance of candidates in the exam is a significant factor. If a majority of candidates perform exceptionally well, the cut-off is likely to be higher. Conversely, if many candidates struggle, the cut-off may be adjusted downward to accommodate the overall performance levels.
Different subjects may exhibit varying levels of difficulty and competition, leading to distinct cut-offs for each subject. For instance, if a particular subject has a higher number of high-scoring candidates, its cut-off may be set higher compared to subjects with lower performance.
The cut-off marks are also influenced by the reservation policies in place for different categories, such as SC, ST, OBC, and General. Each category may have its own cut-off based on the percentage of seats reserved
The Assam SLET Cut-off for 2024 and the Merit List will be established based on specific criteria:
A total of 6% of the candidates who appear for the examination will be deemed qualified for eligibility for the position of Assistant Professor.
To qualify for eligibility as an Assistant Professor, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Candidates must have appeared in both papers and achieved a minimum aggregate score of:
40% across both papers for General Category and General EWS Category candidates.
35% across both papers for candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, PWD, and Third Gender).
The distribution of available slots by category is as follows:
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 27% - 1620 slots
SC: 15% - 900 slots
ST: 7.5% - 450 slots
PWD: 5% - 300 slots
GEN (Unreserved): 35.5% - 2130 slots
General - EWS: 10% - 600 slots
The calculation of the number of slots available in each category is based on the ratio of candidates who achieve the minimum aggregate percentage of marks to the total number of candidates in that category across all subjects. This ratio is then multiplied by the total number of slots allocated to that category.
The cutoff qualifying percentage of marks for each subject, categorized by group, will correspond to the aggregate percentage of the two papers based on the number of slots determined as per the previous paragraph. Ultimately, the top 6% of candidates who appear in both papers and secure at least 40% aggregate marks for the General category or at least 35% for reserved categories will be declared qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor, by the reservation policy of the State Government.
To qualify for the Assam SLET Merit List 2025 for the Assistant Professor position, candidates must have appeared in both papers and achieved the following aggregate marks:
