To be eligible for the Kerala SET 2026, candidates must meet specific criteria regarding nationality, age, and educational qualifications. These requirements ensure that only qualified individuals apply for the examination.
There is no upper age limit prescribed for candidates appearing for the Kerala SET 2026 examination. This allows individuals of various age groups to apply.
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade. A B.Ed. degree from a university in Kerala or an equivalent recognized university is also generally required. There are specific relaxations and exceptions:
For Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, an MSc.Ed Degree with at least 50% marks from Regional Institutes of Education (NCERT) is eligible.
A B.Ed. Degree is not required for subjects like Commerce, French, German, Geology, Home Science, Journalism, Latin, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Russian, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics, and Syriac.
