UGC NET June 2026 Political Science Topper Vidhi Teotia

For many UGC NET aspirants, the journey to a strong result is not always straightforward. Preparation can come with self-doubt, inconsistency, and moments when continuing feels difficult. Each challenge, however, can also become an opportunity to improve the way one prepares.

Vidhi Teotia’s journey reflects this process. Preparing for her second attempt, she worked through periods of inconsistency and focused on bringing more planning to her preparation.

She followed a clear approach built around understanding the syllabus, developing conceptual clarity, practising PYQs, and revising regularly. Her efforts helped her score 99.33 percentile in UGC NET Political Science in the June 2026 cycle.

How Vidhi Teotia Started Her UGC NET Preparation

Before joining PW, Vidhi followed a less organised approach to preparation. She would pick up random videos and begin studying without first understanding the complete syllabus. Enrolling with PW helped her bring a clearer direction to her preparation.

She explained how understanding the syllabus became her first step:

“First of all, ma'am, jo mostly student skip karte hain wo hota hai syllabus. Randomly koi bhi video pick kiya aur preparation start kar diya. To main bhi aise hi karti thi. But when I enrolled in PW to mujhe ek direction provide hui ki haan, pehle matlab aapko conceptual clarity ke liye syllabus ko understand karna bahut jyada zaroori hai.”

Vidhi first wrote down the complete syllabus herself and then worked on conceptual clarity topic by topic. After that, she used PYQs for pattern analysis and focused on revision.

Her preparation strategy became clear and focused: syllabus, conceptual clarity, PYQs and revision. She also realised that limiting resources was important instead of studying the same topic from multiple sources.

Vidhi Teotia’s Struggle With Consistency and Self-Doubt

Vidhi was preparing full-time after completing her master's in June 2025. She generally studied for around six to eight hours a day, but maintaining consistency was sometimes difficult. When backlogs accumulated, she would complete recorded lectures at 2X speed.

Her preparation also involved moments when she questioned whether she could complete the syllabus. She described the mindset that helped her continue:

“Every third day syllabus dekh ke lagta hai ki ab nahi ho raha hai ya phir chhod dete hain. Kai baar kyunki ma'am mera ye second attempt tha to phir mujhe aisa lagta tha ki nahi rehne dete hain.”

Instead of allowing these thoughts to stop her preparation, Vidhi reminded herself why she had started. She relied on self-motivation and continued working towards her goal.

“First of all aapne ye sapna dekha hi kyun hai? To uske baad aap baar-baar apne aapko ek self-motivation doge. Koi aapko motivate karne nahi aayega. To yahi mantra hai. Hard work, smart work and consistency.”

Her experience highlights that preparation is not always consistent every day, but continuing after difficult phases can keep the journey moving forward.

How PW Helped Vidhi Teotia Build an organised Preparation

Vidhi initially discovered PW through YouTube lectures. After finding the teaching suitable, she enrolled in the Mission JRF batch. She found an organised approach useful because earlier she would move between Paper 1 and Paper 2 without being able to revise properly.

She explained the difference that organised preparation made:

“PW mein enrol hone ke baad mein phir humein ek direction milti hai aur saath mein aap DPPs se apne aap ko analyse kar pate ho ki aap galtiyan kahan kar rahe ho.”

The DPPs helped her identify mistakes, while taking one or two lectures a day made it easier to revise without feeling overburdened. She also used PW’s strategy videos and marathon sessions as part of her preparation.

Vidhi also highlighted the role of batches in maintaining consistency:

“Paid batch mein ma'am help yeh hai because YouTube mein kuch bhi kabhi matlab aap Indian Polity padh rahe hain. Kabhi aap International Relations padh rahe hain. To paid batch se ye aapko help milti hai ki aap na ek to consistent hain aur aapko direction mil rahi hai.”

For Vidhi, the value of the batch was not simply having lectures available. The structure helped her follow a defined preparation path and stay consistent.

Vidhi Teotia’s Revision Strategy and Running Notes

Along with lectures and DPPs, Vidhi focused on making running notes. Rather than spending excessive time creating elaborate notebooks, she wrote concepts in her own words while attending lectures.

She explained:

“Ma'am, jo aap bol rahe ho, lecture ko explain kar rahe ho, wahi aap apne words mein likh lo. Wahi running notes hote hain ki aapne kya samjha hai?”

This approach helped her keep notes useful for revision without spending too much time preparing them.

Her revision routine was equally simple. Whatever she studied during the day, she tried to revise once before sleeping. She also revised earlier topics before beginning the next day's lecture. When some lectures were missed, she used PW marathon sessions to cover the remaining portions and revise repeatedly.

Vidhi Teotia’s UGC NET Result and Her Next Goal

Vidhi achieved a 99.33 percentile in UGC NET Political Science. However, she also shared that JRF was her target and she missed it, which left her disappointed despite the strong percentile. During the interview, she was encouraged to recognise the effort behind her result rather than judge her preparation only by the missed JRF target.

The result therefore became another stage in her journey rather than an endpoint. She expressed her intention to try again for JRF, while also discussing her plans related to PhD preparation.

Vidhi Teotia’s Advice to UGC NET Aspirants

For students preparing for the next UGC NET attempt, Vidhi's advice centres on self-belief, consistency and revision. She also cautioned aspirants against comparing their progress with others.

“First of all, aap sab pehle self-belief rakhiye, jo bahut easily mein sabse jyada important hai. Apne aap ko motivate karte rahiye. Self doubt mat rakhiye aur comparison mat kariye.”

She further emphasised staying consistent with preparation and revision:

“Preparation ke saath mein rahiye. Consistent rahiye, revision karte rahiye.”

Vidhi Teotia’s journey shows that preparation can include inconsistency, self-doubt and setbacks, but an organised strategy can help bring the focus back. Her approach of understanding the syllabus, building conceptual clarity, practising PYQs, analysing mistakes and revising regularly offers a practical direction for UGC NET aspirants.
