If you find discrepancies in the provisional keys, you can submit objections through the NTA portal before September 13, 2026:
Log in to your dashboard on ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
Click on the link "Challenge Answer Key".
You will see Question IDs and the corresponding Option ID designated as the correct answer by NTA.
Select the checkbox corresponding to the Option ID you claim to be correct.
Upload a single consolidated PDF containing supporting references or textbook proofs for your claim.
Click on Save Your Claims and proceed to the payment gateway.
Pay the non-refundable processing fee of ₹200 per question using Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.
Download the payment receipt and challenge confirmation slip.
You can calculate your tentative score using the official NTA marking pattern:
Total Questions: 150 (Paper I: 50 Questions | Paper II: 100 Questions)
Correct Answer: +2 Marks added for every correct response.
Incorrect Answer: 0 Marks deducted (No negative marking).
Unattempted Questions: 0 Marks.
After the challenge window closes on September 13, 2026, NTA will review the objections submitted by candidates. If any challenge is found valid, the concerned answer may be revised while preparing the final answer key. Candidates should therefore not consider the provisional answer key as the final basis for their result.
