The revised examination pattern introduces five crucial changes:
Increased Question Count: The commission increased the total number of questions from 100 to 120.
Fixed Time Limit: Candidates must solve all 120 questions within 120 minutes (2 hours).
1/3rd Negative Marking: Incorrect responses now incur a one-third (0.33 point) deduction.
Two-Part Division: The question paper is divided into 40 General Knowledge questions and 80 Specialised Subject questions.
Unit-Wise Question Quotas: Fixed question distribution per unit guarantees balanced coverage across the entire syllabus.
Candidates must meet strict academic and age standards before filling out the online registration form.
Applicants must hold a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) in the relevant subject.
Candidates must pass the UGC NET, CSIR NET, or SLET exam.
Alternatively, candidates holding a PhD degree compliant with UGC Regulations earn exemption from NET qualifications.
Applicants must attain a minimum age of 21 years.
The upper age limit permits candidates up to 62 years to apply for assistant professor posts.
