The recruitment instructions also provide provisions for age relaxation for Central Government employees, Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. The selection for EO/AO includes a Combined Recruitment Test (CRT) followed by an interview.

The CRT consists of objective-type, multiple-choice questions. The test is conducted for two hours in English and Hindi.

There is negative marking in the CRT. One-third of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for every wrong answer. No penalty is applicable for an unanswered question.

Educational Qualification for APFC

A Diploma in any of the following areas is desirable:

UPSC EPFO Nationality Criteria 2026

The UPSC EPFO nationality criteria allow candidates from specified categories to apply.

You must be one of the following:

  1. A citizen of India.

  2. A subject of Nepal.

  3. A subject of Bhutan.

  4. A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or specified East African countries, including Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia, or Vietnam, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates belonging to the specified categories of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees and persons of Indian origin must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India, wherever applicable.

Where such a certificate is required, the application may be considered by the Commission. If the candidate is recommended for appointment, the appointment may be made provisionally, subject to the required certificate being issued by the Government of India.
