Justice Surya Kant was born on February 10, 1962, in the village of Petwar, located in the Hisar District of Haryana. His foundational legal education was completed at Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, where he earned his Law degree in 1984. Immediately after graduating, Justice Surya Kant commenced his legal practice in the District Courts of Hisar. In 1985, demonstrating a keen focus on advanced legal work, he transitioned his practice to the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh.
