Eligibility Criteria of Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana

To receive benefits from this scheme, women must meet specific conditions.

• Residence: Applicants must be permanent residents of Jharkhand.

• Age: The woman's age must be between 21 and 50 years. This targets women in their working-age group.

• Income: The family's annual income must be less than ₹8 lakh. This ensures support reaches economically disadvantaged households.

• Ration Card: The family's name must be registered under the Jharkhand State Antyodaya Anna Yojana. Only holders of pink, yellow, white, and green ration cards can apply.

• Aadhaar Linkage: The bank account of the applicant should ideally be linked with Aadhaar. This ensures direct deposit of funds.

• Offline: Applications were first accepted through special camps. These camps were held at the panchayat level.

• Online: The government has now launched an online portal. Women can apply by visiting the official website.

Recent Updates

The Jharkhand government recently made important temporary changes to the scheme.

• Important Temporary Amendments: The Jharkhand government has recently approved temporary changes to the scheme. These changes are as follows: 

• Temporary Provision for Aadhaar: If a woman’s bank account is not linked to Aadhaar, she will still be eligible to receive the lump sum payment. However, this will be a one-time exception, and the amount will be ₹7,500 for the months of January, February, and March 2025. The change will be in effect only until March 2025.

• Approval by the Cabinet: This amendment to the scheme was approved by the state cabinet of Jharkhand. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, and a total of 18 different proposals were given the green light.

• Number of Beneficiaries: Around 38 lakh women have already been paid the ₹7,500 under the scheme. Another 20 lakh women will receive payment by March 31, 2025. These women do not have Aadhaar-linked accounts or have more than one bank account.

• Beneficiaries’ Account Linking after March 2025: From March 2025, all beneficiaries will be required to link their bank accounts with Aadhaar and have only one bank account in order to continue receiving the benefits of mahila shakti.

Fund Disbursement of Mukhyamantri Mahila Shakti Yojana

The scheme provides financial aid directly to beneficiaries.

• Eligible women receive ₹2,500 per month. This amount totals ₹30,000 annually.

• Funds are transferred directly into the beneficiary's bank account. This direct benefit transfer reduces delays. It also minimizes chances of corruption.

• The recent temporary provision allows a lump sum payment. ₹7,500 is provided for the first quarter of 2025. This covers women whose accounts are not Aadhaar-linked.

Aadhaar Linkage Policy
