The UPSC 2027 OTR Process is the first mandatory step before applying for the Civil Services Examination. UPSC uses the One Time Registration (OTR) system to collect your personal, educational, and contact details only once for future applications.
You must complete the OTR process through the official UPSC online portal before filling out the UPSC application form. During registration, you will need to verify your email ID and mobile number, upload documents, and create your UPSC profile carefully.
UPSC One Time Registration (OTR) is an online registration system introduced by UPSC for candidates applying for Civil Services and other UPSC examinations.
Under this system, you need to enter your details only once. The saved information can later be used while applying for different UPSC examinations.
After successful registration, UPSC generates a Unique Registration Number (URN) for future logins and applications.
You must complete the UPSC OTR process carefully because some details can only be modified once. Entering accurate information during registration helps avoid issues during future UPSC applications.
Below are the important steps involved in the UPSC 2027 OTR process.
Visit the official UPSC websites: upsconline.nic.in or upsc.gov.in. Open the One Time Registration (OTR) section available on the homepage.
Click on “New Registration” if you are registering for the first time. Existing users can log in using their registered email ID, mobile number, or OTP verification.
You must fill in your details such as Full Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, and etc. You may also need to provide your Class 10 Board Roll Number.
UPSC sends OTPs to your registered mobile number and registered email ID. You must verify both OTPs to continue the registration process.
After OTP verification, you must create a password, security questions, and security answers. These credentials will be used for future UPSC logins.
You must provide your correspondence address and your permanent address. If both are the same, you can select the available checkbox option.
You must upload your passport-size photograph and a scanned signature. The uploaded files should follow UPSC-prescribed format and size guidelines.
You will need to enter your Class 10 details, graduation details, and university information. Final-year graduation students can also complete OTR registration.
You may need to upload your Class 10 certificate, Graduation certificate/marksheet, and a valid photo ID proof. All documents should be clear and readable.
