UPSC Reserve List 2024 Update: UPSC has released the Reserve List for the Civil Services Exam (CSE) 2024. A total of 114 candidates have been recommended to fill the remaining vacancies in different Central Government Services. The full list is available on the official website upsc.gov.in.
Out of these, 94 candidates are from the General category, 5 from EWS, 13 from OBC, and 1 each from SC and ST. These candidates will be appointed to IAS, IFS, IPS, and other Group A and Group B Central Services. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) will share the appointment details with the selected candidates directly.

How to Check the List of Recommended Candidates for UPSC CSE 2024
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released an additional list of 114 candidates from the reserve list for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. Follow these simple steps to check the list:

Go to the official UPSC website – upsc.gov.in.

On the homepage, click on the link that says “Recommended Candidates – Civil Services (Main) Examination 2024 Reserve List.”

The PDF list will open on your screen. You can check your name and download the file for later use.
UPSC CSE 2024 Appointments and Vacancies
The government filled posts based on the number of vacancies reported for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. In total, there were 1,129 vacancies across different top services. Out of these:

180 posts were for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS)

55 posts for the Indian Foreign Service (IFS)

147 posts for the Indian Police Service (IPS)

605 posts for Central Services, Group ‘A’
-
142 posts for Group ‘B’ Services
Candidates were selected from both the main list and reserve list to fill all the posts properly and ensure fair representation in all services.
UPSC CSE 2024 Latest Update
UPSC said that the selection of 15 candidates is still provisional, meaning their documents will be checked before final approval. Earlier, on April 22, 2025, UPSC announced the final results of the Civil Services Exam 2024, recommending 1,009 candidates for 1,129 vacancies. With the new reserve list, the remaining posts will soon be filled, completing the 2024 exam process.
The Prelims exam was held on June 16, 2024; the Mains exam took place from September 20 to 29, 2024, and the Interview round was held between January 7 and April 17, 2025.
