SSC JE 2026 New Posts: The Staff Selection Commission has officially released the detailed notification for the Junior Engineer Examination 2026, introducing significant structural changes to its traditional recruitment format. While the examination historically served as a gateway primarily for Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering diploma and degree holders, the 2026 notice broadens this scope substantially.
Candidates now have access to technical positions like JE Telecom and Scientific Assistant (IMD) across multiple newly onboarded central ministries. With an expanded list of participating organisations, updated post-wise educational qualifications, and modified departmental choices, aspirants must carefully review the new additions before completing their online applications on the official portal.
The 2026 official notice highlights five major additions under the newly added organisation framework:
Director General of Lighthouses & Lightships (DGLL): Recruiting for JE Civil and JE Electrical.
Department of Telecommunications (DoT): Recruiting for JE Telecom.
India Meteorological Department (IMD): Recruiting for Scientific Assistant.
Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying: Recruiting for JE Civil.
These additions reflect a diversification of roles within technical Group 'B' government posts, offering wider avenues for candidates with varied educational backgrounds.
The SSC JE 2026 examination invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens to fill engineering and technical roles in various ministries and central organisations.
