Wahid Khan’s journey towards clearing RRB JE 2025 came with several challenges. Coming from Babnauli village in Uttar Pradesh, he worked hard to build his academic foundation and prepare for competitive examinations. Despite facing setbacks, he continued working towards his goal of joining Indian Railways.
With support from his family and Physics Wallah’s Engineers Wallah Ashoka Batch, Wahid focused on understanding concepts, revising his notes and practising questions. Instead of collecting multiple study resources, he continued revising the material he already had.
His consistent efforts helped him qualify for RRB JE 2025 from the Mumbai Zone. His experience shows how focused preparation, regular revision and learning from previous attempts can help aspirants move closer to their goals.

Wahid wanted to build a career in engineering and eventually focused on government engineering recruitment examinations. His preparation journey taught him the importance of understanding concepts and setting clear study targets.
He did not measure his preparation only by the number of hours he studied. Instead, he focused on completing topics, practising numerical questions and checking whether he could recall concepts during the examination.
His approach highlights the importance of knowing what you have learnt rather than simply counting the time spent studying.
Wahid faced setbacks in his earlier attempts at competitive examinations. In his first RRB JE attempt, he cleared CBT 1 but scored 85 marks in CBT 2. The Mumbai Zone cut-off was above 90, so he missed the required marks.
Rather than giving up, he used the experience to understand where he needed to improve. For his next attempt, he relied on his existing notes and focused on revision and question practice.
He also advised candidates who have appeared for the examination before to pay special attention to Mathematics practice, Science revision and mock tests.

Wahid joined the Physics Wallah Engineers Wallah Ashoka Batch in 2023. He used the batch’s lectures and notes for his AE/JE preparation and continued revising the same material.
For him, online learning resources were particularly useful because coaching options near his village were limited. Earlier, he had travelled around nine kilometres by bicycle to attend coaching classes.
His experience highlights how Physics Wallah’s online resources can help aspirants access learning material even when coaching centres are far from home.

For his second RRB JE attempt, Wahid focused on strengthening his existing preparation instead of starting from scratch. He revised his notes, practised questions and worked on improving his speed and accuracy.
He also stressed that candidates should not keep switching between different study materials. According to him, revising a limited set of reliable resources repeatedly is more useful than collecting too many notes and courses.
Wahid described the moment he checked the Mumbai Zone result and found his roll number in the PDF. His mother was offering namaz at the time, making the moment even more emotional for his family.
He recalled:
“Mumbai Zone ka result aaya. Jaise-jaise PDF mein match kiya, toh fourth row mein hamara roll number match kar raha tha. Mummy wahin namaz padh rahi thi. Humne kaha, ‘Ho gaya!’ Andar itni khushi thi ki kisi ko batane ke bhi hosh nahi the.”
Finding his roll number on the result list was a memorable moment after his hard work and earlier setbacks. His selection also meant a great deal to his family, who had supported his education along the way.
Wahid qualified RRB JE 2025 from the Mumbai Zone, with a merit index of 792.2, as shared during the interview.

Wahid’s preparation journey offers useful lessons for students preparing for RRB JE and other AE/JE examinations. He believes success depends not only on studying new topics but also on revising what you have already learnt.
He explained his approach:
“Engineering ki language mein, revision is proportional to success. Multiple revision is proportional to success. Jitna zyada aap revise karenge aur jitne kam resources rakhenge, utna zyada aap success ke paas jayenge.”
His advice is to choose suitable study material, revise it repeatedly and spend enough time practising questions. Instead of switching between multiple sources, aspirants should focus on understanding concepts and applying them during mock tests.
Here are some lessons you can take from his journey:
Set daily targets: Focus on completing topics and understanding concepts rather than counting study hours alone.
Revise regularly: Revisit notes and difficult questions several times.
Practise PYQs: Learn the question patterns and identify topics that need more practice.
Take mock tests: Analyse mistakes and work on improving speed and accuracy.
Limit study resources: Choose reliable material and revise it properly.
Learn from setbacks: Use previous exam results to identify areas for improvement.
Wahid also shared an important message for students working towards a better future through education. He believes students should prioritise learning and make the best use of the resources available to them.
He said:
“Money ko follow nahi karna hai. Pehle aap apni education ko follow kariye. Uske baad money apne aap follow karega.”
His words reflect the importance he places on education as the foundation for future opportunities. His own journey, from cycling to coaching classes to qualifying for RRB JE, shows how continued effort and access to learning resources can help students work towards their goals.
Wahid Khan’s RRB JE 2025 success story is an example of how persistence, focused preparation and repeated revision can help aspirants move forward, even after setbacks.
