The Calcutta University BSc Chemistry syllabus runs for eight semesters under the four-year B.A./B.Sc. Honours and Honours with Research programme. It follows the University of Calcutta's Curriculum & Credit Framework, 2022.
In the first two years, the BSc Chemistry course starts with the basics through Fundamentals of Chemistry. Later, students study Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry in more depth. Each paper has theory and practical work. Students also take minor courses, skill-based papers and interdisciplinary courses. Those who choose Honours with Research also complete Research Methodology papers, an internship and a dissertation or project in the final semester.
The syllabus is divided into eight semesters. The main Chemistry papers gradually move from fundamental concepts to Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry at advanced levels.
