Candidates must meet the rules for course registration, practical training, Advanced ICITSS, and Self-Paced Online Modules (SPOM). The requirements may differ based on the candidate's registration scheme and examination history.
Candidates must have valid registration under the Final New Scheme. The course code on SSP must be NEWFIN23 or CONFIN23.
Candidates registered under an old course code must apply for course conversion through the following steps:
Log in to the official SSP portal.
Open Student Functions.
Select Student Module.
Open Course Registration.
Select Apply for Conversion.
There is no fee for course conversion. Candidates should complete this step before filling out the exam form.
Articleship training is an important part of CA Final exam eligibility. The required training period depends on the candidate's registration scheme.
For candidates registered under three years of articleship training:
Candidates must meet at least one of the applicable conditions given by ICAI.
Complete three or three and a half years of articleship by the date of filling out the exam form.
Complete the required training, including excess leave, on or before October 31, 2026.
Candidates from certain PE-II, PCC, Intermediate, IPCC, or IIPCE streams may qualify through special in-service training conditions.
Eligible candidates under these streams must meet the required training status as of November 1, 2026, and complete their training by the applicable deadline.
Candidates whose training was terminated must register again for the remaining training period and meet the relevant conditions.
The applicable training period and completion date depend on the candidate's entry route.
For candidates registered under two years of articleship training:
Candidates must have completed two years of articleship, including excess leave, on or before April 30, 2026.
Candidates should check their exact training category and status on SSP before applying.
Candidates must successfully complete the Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (Advanced ICITSS) on or before October 10, 2026, wherever this requirement applies.
The course includes:
Advanced IT Course
Management and Communication Skills (MCS) Course
AICITSS-IT Test conducted by the ICAI Exam Department
Candidates who completed only GMCS-II or Advanced ITT under the old course may need to complete only the remaining part.
Some candidates who registered under the old Final Course before July 1, 2017, and have appeared in the Final examination at least once may complete Advanced ICITSS after passing the examination but before applying for ICAI membership. This exception applies only to eligible candidates.
Candidates must check their SPOM requirements based on when they were admitted to the CA Final examination and their previous results.
SPOM tests are available through the official ICAI SPMT Portal.
The main rules are given below:
Candidates admitted till November 2023: They may be exempt from Sets C and D. Their Set A and Set B requirements depend on their previous group results and paper exemptions.
Candidates admitted in May 2024: They are exempt from Sets C and D and must qualify Sets A and B before applying for membership.
Candidates admitted from November 2024 onwards: They must qualify the applicable Sets A, B, C, and D on or before October 10, 2026, where required for appearing in the examination.
Intermediate scheme candidates: Their SPOM requirements depend on when they cleared the Intermediate groups, their training period, and their marks under the applicable scheme.
Candidates who passed one Intermediate group earlier and cleared the remaining group under the Unit Scheme may have different requirements. Depending on the marks secured, they may need to qualify all four sets, Sets A and B with either Set C or D, or only Sets A and B.
Candidates should check the official rules for their category instead of assuming that the same SPOM requirements apply to everyone.
