Course Duration
After graduation, the minimum time to complete the CA course is 3 years. You can appear for the IPCC exam (now known as CA Intermediate) after 9 months of registering. Post your CA degree, you will also need to complete a 2-year Articleship to qualify as a Chartered Accountant.CA Foundation Students who want to pursue CA right after the 12th must be eligible for the CA Foundation exam. Registration must be done at least 4 months before the exam, which takes place twice a year, in May/November or June/December.
CA Direct Entry Route If you have cleared the CS Intermediate exam from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or the CWA Intermediate exam from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, you can take the CA Direct Entry route without taking the Foundation exam.
CA Direct Entry Route: Students must fulfill particular academic requirements and score requirements to be eligible for the CA Direct Entry route.
Graduates in commerce: A minimum score of 55% in graduation is needed.
Graduates in Science: A minimum of 60% is needed in graduation.
The CA Direct Entry route is also open to applicants who have passed the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or the Institute of Cost Accounts of India's Intermediate level exam.Final Year Candidates: Candidates can use the CA Direct Entry route if they are in their final year of graduation. They must, however, use the provisional method to do so. These students must submit their graduation mark sheet within six months of applying.
Start by Taking the ICITSS Training: The ICAI offers an Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS) training.
Enroll in the CA Intermediate Examination: You must register with the ICAI Board of Studies to appear for the CA Intermediate exam.
Start the three-year training program for articles: To obtain exposure to and practical experience in the accounting field, enroll in a three-year Articleship training program.
Complete 9 Months of Articleship: Complete the first 9 months of Articleship training with success.
Successfully clear CA Intermediate Exams: Consider the CA Intermediate exams and pass either one or both of the two groups.Complete Articleship with ASCITES: Proceed with the Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (AICITSES) and complete the Articleship training.
Clear Any Remaining Group (If Applicable): During the Articleship period, clear any remaining group from the CA Intermediate exams.
