Plot the points O (0, 0), A (16, 0), B (16, 12) on graph paper. Join OB, OA and BA. Name the figure and find its area.
Solution
The coordinates of O→ (0, 0); A→ (16, 0); B→ (16, 12).
On plotting these points on the same pair of axes we get a right angle triangle OAB.
OA = 16 – 0 = 16, AB = 12 – 0 = 12
Area of right ΔOAB = 
= 96 square units
