(i) Pitch -Pitch is the sensation (brain interpretation) of the frequency of an emitted sound.

(ii) Loudness and softness – Loudness or softness of a sound wave is the sensation that                                           depends upon its amplitude.

(iii) Intensity– Intensity of a sound is the sound energy transferred per unit time per unit area placed perpendicular to the direction of the propagation of sound.

(iv) Quality– Quality of sound is the characteristic of a sound which enables us to distinguish between the sounds of same loudness and pitch.
