  • The Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the Consortium of National Law Universities (the “Consortium”), at their meetings held on 18th July, 2026, have decided that the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 shall be conducted on Sunday, 6th December, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • The online application portal for CLAT 2027 will be operational from 3 rd August, 2026 and will remain open until 31st October, 2026, which is the last date for submission of applications. Further details regarding the admission process and CLAT 2027 shall be notified in due course. 

CLAT PG 2027 Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme

The postgraduate test remains a comprehension-based objective evaluation consisting of passage-based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

  • Mode of Examination: Offline (Pen-and-Paper / OMR-based)

  • Duration: 2 Hours (120 Minutes)

  • Medium of Exam: English

  • Total Questions: 120

  • Maximum Marks: 120

  • Marking Scheme: +1 mark for each correct answer

  • Negative Marking: -0.25 mark for each incorrect answer

  • Question Format: Passage-based questions from landmark judgments, statutes, and legal treatises (approximately 450 words per passage)

    • SC / ST / PwD: Minimum 45% aggregate marks or equivalent grade.

  3. Appearing Candidates: Students currently in the final year or final semester of their LL.B. program are fully eligible to apply, provided they produce proof of passing at the time of NLU admission counseling.

  4. Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing in CLAT PG 2027.

1.Portal Registration:
