Life Science

  • Candidates must hold an M.Sc. or an equivalent degree in Life Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • Alternatively, a B.Tech in Biotechnology with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) is accepted.

Chemical Science

  • Aspiring candidates should possess an M.Sc. or an equivalent degree in Chemical Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • Alternatively, a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) is acceptable.

Earth Science

  • Candidates must have an M.Sc. or an equivalent degree in Earth Sciences/Geology/Geophysics/Atmospheric Sciences/Ocean Sciences or related subjects with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • Alternatively, a B.Tech in Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) is considered.

Mathematical Science

  • Eligible candidates must possess an M.Sc. or an equivalent degree in Mathematics/Statistics or a related subject with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the main subjects, with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • Alternatively, a B.Tech in Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) is a valid qualification.

Physical Science

  • Candidates should have an M.Sc. or an equivalent degree in Physical Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • Alternatively, a B.Tech in Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) is accepted.

CSIR NET Exam Pattern 2024

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the CSIR NET Notification 2024, outlining the CSIR NET Exam Pattern 2024 . The examination will consist of five papers: Earth Sciences, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physics. Each paper will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and the total marks for the CSIR NET exam will be 200.

CSIR NET Salary 2024

The pay scale for CSIR NET qualified candidates varies based on their positions:

The stipend for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) generally ranges from Rs 31,000 to Rs 35,000 per month, with a duration initially offered for 2 years and extendable up to 5 years depending on performance and research progress.

After completing 2 years as JRF, candidates can be promoted to Senior Research Fellowship (SRF), with a stipend generally higher than JRF, ranging from INR 35,000 to INR 45,000 per month. Candidates who qualify for NET-LS are eligible for lectureship (LS) positions, with a pay scale generally ranging between 80,000 to 82,000.

The National Testing Agency will soon release the city intimation slip on the official website. Candidates must select four cities of their choice while filling out the CSIR NET Application Form 2024 for the CSIR NET 2024 exam.
