- Candidates must hold an M.Sc. or an equivalent degree in Life Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
- Alternatively, a B.Tech in Biotechnology with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) is accepted.
Chemical Science
- Aspiring candidates should possess an M.Sc. or an equivalent degree in Chemical Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
- Alternatively, a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) is acceptable.
Earth Science
- Candidates must have an M.Sc. or an equivalent degree in Earth Sciences/Geology/Geophysics/Atmospheric Sciences/Ocean Sciences or related subjects with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
- Alternatively, a B.Tech in Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) is considered.
Mathematical Science
- Eligible candidates must possess an M.Sc. or an equivalent degree in Mathematics/Statistics or a related subject with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the main subjects, with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
- Alternatively, a B.Tech in Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) is a valid qualification.
Physical Science
- Candidates should have an M.Sc. or an equivalent degree in Physical Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).

CSIR NET Exam Pattern 2024
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the CSIR NET Notification 2024, outlining the CSIR NET Exam Pattern 2024 . The stipend for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) generally ranges from Rs 31,000 to Rs 35,000 per month, with a duration initially offered for 2 years and extendable up to 5 years depending on performance and research progress.
After completing 2 years as JRF, candidates can be promoted to Senior Research Fellowship (SRF), with a stipend generally higher than JRF, ranging from INR 35,000 to INR 45,000 per month. Candidates who qualify for NET-LS are eligible for lectureship (LS) positions, with a pay scale generally ranging between 80,000 to 82,000.
