For Lokesh Sharma, the journey to NIMCET 2026 was shaped by several attempts and setbacks. After preparing for JEE Main and appearing for exams including CUET UG and CUET PG, he was still looking for an opportunity to secure a strong college for his MCA. His 125 marks in CUET PG made him rethink his preparation and focus on NIMCET.

With a strong background in Mathematics and a clear goal of getting into an NIT, Lokesh started working more deliberately on practice, revision, and mock tests. Preparing from home with PW’s NIMCET resources, he gradually improved his approach and secured AIR 174, earning admission to NIT Warangal for MCA.

How Lokesh Sharma Started His NIMCET Journey After Multiple Setbacks

Lokesh had been preparing for competitive exams since Class 10. He attempted JEE Main multiple times and also appeared for CUET UG, NDA, and CUET PG, but none of these attempts gave him the result he wanted.

He eventually appeared for CUET PG MCA and scored 125 marks out of 300. This became a turning point in his preparation as he decided to focus on NIMCET.

“Aisi sir, 10th ke baad maine JEE ki preparation chalu ki thi, 12th class mein maine do attempt JEE Mains ke diye the, dono mein nahi hue.”

Despite multiple setbacks, Lokesh continued looking for the right opportunity. His strong Mathematics background also made NIMCET a natural choice for him.

He had studied Mathematics in Classes 11 and 12, during his JEE preparation, and throughout his BSc. Since Mathematics carries significant weight in NIMCET, he decided to use that strength to his advantage.

How Practice and Revision Changed Lokesh Sharma’s Preparation

After his CUET PG attempt, Lokesh identified the areas that needed improvement. Instead of simply increasing his study hours, he focused on revising what he had already learned and practising it repeatedly.

“Major sir practice aur revision tha, kyunki CUET ka jo exam tha wo March mein tha. To us dauraan maine lecture saare dekh liye the…”

He used the gap after his exams to revise formulas, tips, tricks, and his short notes. He also started taking mock tests to strengthen his preparation.

This approach helped him understand that completing lectures was only one part of preparation. Revising concepts and applying them through questions was equally important.

How PW Helped Lokesh Sharma Prepare From Home

Since Lokesh was preparing entirely from home, he relied on PW for the different stages of his NIMCET preparation. After starting the Samarth 1.0 batch, he used the classes, sessions, and practice resources available on the PW app and website.

“To PW ka ye raha ki kyunki agar aapko ghar — mere ko ghar se preparation karni thi to maine shuruaat se jaise August se start kiya tha, saari class PW ki li, aur uske baad mein jitne bhi the matlab sessions, practice, sab PW ki app pe, website pe, sab inhi pe kiya.”

His preparation included DPPs, class notes, topic-wise and subject-wise tests, full-length tests, previous-year papers, and practice sheets. Rather than continuously looking for new study material, Lokesh focused on repeatedly revising the resources he already had and maintained short notes for important formulas, tips, and tricks.

How Lokesh Sharma Used Mocks to Improve Speed and Accuracy

Lokesh completed his syllabus by the end of March and used the following two months extensively for mock tests and analysis. He attempted around 20+ mock tests and also solved previous-year papers.

Initially, he noticed that he spent too much time on individual questions, even when he knew how to solve them. Mock analysis helped him recognise this problem and work on his speed.

“To dekho yaar, accuracy hona, knowledge hona wo ek alag cheez hai. Lekin speed agar aapke paas nahi hai na to bina speed ke aap maximum number of questions nahi kar paoge.”

This became an important part of his NIMCET strategy. Rather than focusing only on knowing concepts, he worked on solving questions within the limited examination time.

His Mathematics preparation also translated into his actual performance. He attempted 20 Mathematics questions and got 16 correct, contributing to his overall NIMCET result.

From AIR 174 to NIT Warangal: Lokesh Sharma’s Result

After several unsuccessful attempts across different entrance examinations, Lokesh finally achieved the result he had been working towards.

He secured AIR 174 in NIMCET 2026 and earned admission to NIT Warangal, where he is set to pursue MCA.

His journey shows that an unsuccessful attempt does not have to define the next one. By identifying gaps, revising consistently, practising through mocks, and improving his speed, Lokesh was able to turn a difficult preparation phase into a successful NIMCET result.

For students preparing for NIMCET 2027, Lokesh’s advice is to choose their preparation path carefully and stick with it rather than constantly switching resources.

“Aapne jo ek batch le liya hai, aap usme late chal rahe hain, jaldi chal rahe hain, aap usi ke saath continue karein. Jo cheezein kharab ho rahi hai unko sahi karte rahein.”

His story is a reminder that preparation is not always about studying for long hours. Consistent practice, timely revision, mock analysis, and the ability to continue after setbacks can make a significant difference over time.
