LU PG Admission Registration (LURN) is done through the Samarth Portal and requires a one-time payment of Rs. 100/-. Once registered, the same LURN can be used to apply for multiple courses. Candidates should keep a printout of the LURN form for future reference.
Note: LURN registration was opened on 17 April 2026 and is open till 31st May 2026. No admission application form can be submitted without a valid LURN.
The Lucknow University PG Admission 2026 eligibility criteria vary by faculty and programme. However, the general eligibility rule is as follows:
General Eligibility: A candidate must have completed a Bachelor's degree (BA/BSc/BCom) under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 (NEP) pattern from any university recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Additional Eligibility Rules:
If a subject was studied during graduation, minimum marks required: 45% for General/OBC; 40% for SC/ST/PwBD
If a subject was NOT studied during graduation, minimum marks required: 50%
SC/ST/PwBD candidates get a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks across all programmes
A candidate cannot pursue two regular PG degree programmes simultaneously
A candidate who has already completed a PG course in one subject cannot apply for another PG course in a different subject (except for professional/self-financed courses)
Candidates appearing in the final year of graduation in the admission year are eligible to apply but must fulfil eligibility criteria on the day of counselling
Follow the steps below to complete your LURN registration for session 2026–27:

Click on the LURNS link from the Admission page or via the Samarth Portal at https://lkounivadm.samarth.edu.in
Click on 'New Registration' on the right side of the registration page to create your Login ID
Keep a valid email ID ready; an OTP will be sent to this email for verification
After creating the Login ID, log in and fill in your complete profile details (name, father's name, mother's name, etc.)
After completing the profile, pay the registration fee of Rs. 100/- through the payment gateway
Important: If payment is deducted but not confirmed as Successful, do not attempt payment again for 48 hours
After successful payment, your LURN will be generated and sent to your registered mobile number and email
Take a printout of the generated LURN and keep it safe

Select the specific programme you want to apply for
Select 'Lucknow University' and click on 'Proceed.'
Fill in your Academic Details and verify your eligibility for the selected programme
Upload the required documents
Preview your complete application form; if any error is found, correct it before submission
Proceed to the payment section and pay the applicable application fee using Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking
After successful payment, the Online Admission Application Form will be generated — take a printout

The Lucknow University PG entrance exam 2026 is conducted for most faculties, including Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Fine Arts, Yoga, and Alternative Medicine. The entrance examination plays a key role in determining merit for admission.
Important Rule: If the number of applications for a programme is less than the number of available seats, no entrance examination will be held for that subject. In such cases, admission will be based on marks obtained in the qualifying (graduation) examination.

Note: Common Entrance Test: A single entrance test is conducted for M.Sc. and M.A. in Anthropology (combined), and for M.Sc. and M.A. in Mathematics (combined). Subject allotment is done at the time of counselling based on common merit.
