Mohit’s NIMCET 2026 Journey: How PW’s Samarth Course Helped Him Secure AIR 20

Mohit secured AIR 20 in NIMCET 2026 after joining PW’s Samarth NIMCET course. His journey from choosing NIMCET to building a strong Mathematics foundation, handling a lengthy paper, using mock tests, and maintaining consistency offers useful lessons for NIMCET 2027 aspirants.

For Mohit, securing AIR 20 in NIMCET 2026 was the result of gradually finding the right direction and staying consistent with it. After not pursuing engineering and feeling uncertain about his next academic step, he was introduced to NIMCET by a friend. He then explored his preparation options and joined PW’s Samarth NIMCET course.

His preparation went beyond simply covering the syllabus. Building his Mathematics foundation, following one structured course, practising questions, attempting mocks and learning to manage time during a challenging paper all became important parts of his journey. His preparation eventually led him to NIT Trichy.

How Mohit Found NIMCET and Started His Preparation with PW

Mohit was initially unsure about his academic direction after not pursuing engineering and missing the opportunity to appear for JEE. At that point, a friend suggested NIMCET as an option to get admission to an NIT and build a good future.

Later, Mohit started exploring preparation options. While searching for courses, he came across PW's Samarth NIMCET course, which had been launched around the same time.

“PW mein sir usi time ek course launch kara tha, Samarth NIMCET ka. To sir phir maine usi course mein enroll kiya aur wahin se apni preparation start ki. Jo bhi guideline milti thi, jo bhi matlab usme step the, unhi ko follow karta gaya aur phir paper mein sir ek achhi rank score hui.”

One of the benefits Mohit highlights about taking a structured course is that the preparation plan and required steps are already organised for students:

“Course mein sir fayda yeh hota hai ki aapko saari cheez structured pehle se mil jaati hain.”

How PW’s Samarth Course Helped Mohit Stay on Track

Once Mohit started preparing with PW’s Samarth NIMCET course, he followed the structured preparation approach instead of repeatedly changing his resources or strategy. The course gave him a defined path to follow, while his focus on Mathematics helped him strengthen the conceptual foundation needed for the exam.

For Mathematics, Mohit emphasised understanding concepts rather than relying only on memorising formulas:

“To basically mathematics agar koi padhna shuru karta hai — pehle foundation banaye poora, achhi tarike se. Matlab aisa bhi hota hai na ki bachche kya karte hain ki formula rat rahe hain, matlab wo sirf usi par kaam kar rahe hain.”

This foundation became particularly important because Mohit found that the NIMCET paper included questions that could not always be solved through direct formula application. Understanding the concepts helped him approach different types of questions more effectively.

Alongside this conceptual preparation, Mohit continued following the Samarth NIMCET course, including its WT sessions, marathon sessions and countdown series as the examination approached. Having this structure meant he could focus on completing the preparation rather than constantly deciding what to study next.

How Mohit Handled a Lengthy NIMCET Paper

The actual examination tested more than Mohit’s preparation. He found the paper lengthy and realised that several questions were not based on direct formula application.

“Sir basically sir practice to sir maine bhi ki thi lekin paper mein aisa realize hua ki cheezein utni aasan nahi hai, utni matlab direct formula base hai hi nahi, usme concept accha khaasa use ho jaayega.”

Faced with this difficulty, Mohit did not spend excessive time trying to solve every question. Instead, he prioritised questions he could solve and kept both accuracy and the available time in mind.

His approach was to avoid taking difficult questions on ego and move ahead when a question was likely to consume too much time. This helped him manage the paper despite finding it challenging.

Why Mohit Relied on Mock Tests

While the actual paper tested his ability to manage time and accuracy, mock tests had helped him develop those habits before the examination. Mohit used mocks to become familiar with the pressure and time constraints of the actual exam.

“To sir last minute mein wo cheezein maintain nahi ho paati hai. Uske liye phir sir muscle memory banani padti hai, habit banani padti hai. Aur sir us cheez ke liye jo mock test hote hain sir usse accha koi cheez hoti nahi hai.”

Mohit attempted around 17–18 sectional and full-length mocks. He did not stop at simply taking the tests. He revisited them and analysed his mistakes, using the process to improve his performance.

This made mock tests a regular part of his preparation rather than something he relied on only towards the end.

How Mohit’s Consistency Led to AIR 20

Mohit’s preparation ultimately resulted in AIR 20 in NIMCET 2026, with a score of 430 marks. He also secured NIT Trichy.

When discussing his advice for NIMCET 2027 aspirants, he returned to one important part of his preparation: consistency and completing the targets he set for himself.

“To daily targets ko banao, usko achieve karo aur usko pura karo. Aur yahi cheez continue karoge na exam tak, apne aap selection hoga. Badhiya number aayenge, ranks bhi aayenge.”

His advice was also about avoiding the burden of unfinished daily targets. He emphasised setting achievable targets, completing them and continuing the same process until the examination.

Mohit’s journey shows how a student can move from uncertainty about the next step to a focused preparation strategy and eventually a strong NIMCET rank.

For NIMCET 2027 aspirants, his experience highlights the value of building concepts instead of relying only on formulas, sticking to one preparation structure, practising through mocks, managing time during the exam and completing daily targets consistently.
