Securing a strong rank in NIMCET requires more than simply completing the syllabus. With Mathematics carrying a significant weightage, aspirants need a clear strategy for building fundamentals, practising questions, analysing mistakes, and managing time during the exam.

Vireshwar Tiwari secured AIR 203 in NIMCET and shared the preparation approach that helped him work through these challenges. From maintaining a formula notebook to analysing errors in mocks and focusing on high-weightage topics, his experience offers practical insights for students preparing for NIMCET.

How Vireshwar Tiwari Built His NIMCET Preparation Strategy

For Vireshwar, Mathematics was the first priority because of its significant weightage in NIMCET. He recommended completing the Mathematics syllabus properly before moving towards consistent question practice.

โ€œTo agar aap fresher ho NIMCET 2027 ke liye, to obviously aapka Math pe zyada focus hona chahiye kyunki ye aapka 60% of weightage carry karta haiโ€”โ€

He further emphasised daily practice and maintaining a formula notebook while preparing for the Mathematics section. His approach was to first complete the Mathematics syllabus thoroughly and then continue with regular question practice.

Along with solving questions, he believed that mocks should be used to identify where mistakes were being made so that those errors could be avoided in subsequent tests.

How Vireshwar Tiwari Used Mistakes to Improve

As preparation progressed, Vireshwar focused on a common problem in Mathematics preparation: assuming that a question can be solved without actually working through it. He recommended solving questions completely, even when the answer initially appeared obvious.

โ€œBahut saari cheezein bachche sochte hain โ€” ye to question dekha, arre ye to mere se ho jaayega. But my suggestion is ki aap log uske zaroor se three-four steps tak zaroor solve karo.โ€

For Vireshwar, working through the steps could help students discover more than one way to approach a problem. A different method could sometimes be faster and more useful during the examination.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of maintaining an error log or error documentation during preparation. Instead of focusing only on getting the correct answer, students can use their mistakes to understand what went wrong and identify concepts that need more attention.

โ€œHumein na ek error book ya error ka ek documentation properly karna chahiyeโ€ฆ Answer nikal gaya, uske upar focus karte hain ki A correct answer hai. Ab B, C and D incorrect kyun hua? Generally wo humse skip ho jaata hai.โ€

This approach can help students learn from every question rather than treating only the correct answer as important. Reviewing why an answer was wrong and why the other options were incorrect can help identify gaps and prevent similar mistakes in future practice and mocks.

Vireshwar Tiwariโ€™s Approach to Mocks and the NIMCET Paper

Mock tests were another important part of his strategy. Vireshwar suggested that students should not approach every question in the same sequence during the actual examination. Instead, they should quickly assess whether a question can be solved and move on when it appears time-consuming.

โ€œTo aap jab aap mock de rahe ho ya phir aap final paper de rahe ho to aap ye cheez make sure karo ki aap 10 second ka time lo har ek question pe aur aap apne mind mein calculate karo โ€” ye mere se ho pa raha hai ya kya main isme do se teen step leke kuch iska intuition build up kar pa raha hoon kya?โ€

His suggested approach was to spend a few seconds assessing a question before committing time to it. If the question seemed manageable and the solution path was clear, students could attempt it. If it appeared likely to consume too much time, they could mark it for review and move ahead.

If the question appeared manageable, he recommended attempting it. If not, he suggested marking it for review instead of spending too much time on it.

How Vireshwar Tiwari Prioritised Important NIMCET Topics

Along with covering the syllabus, Vireshwar highlighted the importance of identifying topics that repeatedly appear in the examination. He recommended strengthening the Mathematics foundation first and then giving additional attention to areas such as Functions, Calculus, Probability, and Permutation and Combination.

He also stressed that students should not assume that only a limited set of topics will appear. The entire syllabus still needs to be covered, but repeated and high-weightage areas can receive additional attention during preparation.

For students with weaker Mathematics fundamentals, the discussion also emphasised returning to basic concepts and strengthening the foundation before attempting more advanced problems.

Vireshwar Tiwariโ€™s Advice for NIMCET Aspirants

Beyond specific study techniques, Vireshwar highlighted consistency and confidence as important parts of preparation. He acknowledged that doubts about whether the preparation would lead to success can remain throughout the journey, but students should continue focusing on their daily work.

His advice was to remain consistent with studies and follow the guidance provided by teachers and mentors rather than constantly changing the preparation approach.

He also emphasised that preparation should be strategic. Students do not need to treat every topic with exactly the same priority. Understanding the examination pattern, identifying important areas, practising regularly, and analysing mistakes can help make preparation more focused.

Conclusion

Vireshwar Tiwariโ€™s journey to AIR 203 in NIMCET shows how consistent practice, strong Mathematics fundamentals, mock-test analysis, and careful error tracking can bring structure to entrance-exam preparation. His approach offers aspirants a practical way to combine thorough syllabus coverage with focused revision and exam-oriented practice.
