NIMCET 2026 AIR 42 Success Story: How Abuzar’s Preparation with Physics Wallah Led to an NIT MCA Seat

Preparing for NIMCET requires more than completing the syllabus. Students need to build concepts, practise questions, analyse mistakes, and remain consistent throughout the preparation journey.

One such achievement comes from Abuzar, a BCA graduate from Kanpur, who secured AIR 42 in NIMCET 2026 after nearly 12 months of preparation with Physics Wallah. He initially targeted a rank under 250 for MNIT Allahabad, but a process-focused approach, regular practice, mock analysis, and consistent preparation helped him go well beyond his original target.

Abuzar Began NIMCET Preparation with a Clear Goal

After completing his BCA, Abuzar wanted to find a pathway towards better career opportunities. He came across NIMCET, which offers admission to MCA programmes at NITs, and decided to dedicate a year to preparation.

He initially believed that a rank under 250 could help him secure MNIT Allahabad. However, instead of constantly thinking about the final rank, he shifted his attention towards the preparation process.

This approach allowed Abuzar to concentrate on daily progress rather than putting pressure on himself over the final result.

Abuzar Turned Mock-Test Mistakes into Preparation Lessons

Mock tests became an important part of Abuzar’s preparation, but his performance was not always consistent. Question selection and knowing when to leave a difficult question were among the challenges he faced.

Instead of simply moving on after a poor score, he analysed his mistakes to identify whether the problem was conceptual, formula-based, or related to recalling the right approach.

This analysis helped him turn mistakes into actionable areas for improvement. His focus was not merely on taking more tests but on ensuring that the same mistakes were not repeated.

Abuzar Found Consistency Through Focused PW Resources

At the beginning of his preparation, Abuzar explored different resources because the cost of some institutes was a concern. He later discovered a dedicated NIMCET batch from Physics Wallah and joined it.

After joining the batch, he found that sticking to selected teachers and books helped him avoid confusion caused by constantly switching between resources.

This gave his preparation a more stable structure. Alongside classes, he used PYQs and mock tests to understand his progress and practise in an exam-like environment.

The combination of focused resources, PYQs, and mock-based practice helped Abuzar evaluate his preparation more realistically.

Abuzar’s Year-Long Preparation Led to AIR 42

Abuzar began preparing in June 2025, giving himself almost 12 months to build concepts, practise questions, and revise. Starting early meant that by the later stages, he could focus more on revision instead of trying to complete major portions of the syllabus.

His family also played an important role in creating a supportive study environment in Kanpur. Living with his brother and sister meant that he could remain focused on his studies, while his cousin’s competitive-exam experience also provided useful guidance.

With consistent preparation and support, Abuzar moved from his initial target of an under-250 rank to AIR 42 in NIMCET 2026. He also recognised that students with different academic backgrounds may need different amounts of time to strengthen their concepts.

For Abuzar, the result ultimately came from staying with the process even when preparation became difficult. His final advice reflects the consistency that shaped his own journey:

Abuzar’s journey from a BCA graduate targeting a rank under 250 to AIR 42 in NIMCET 2026 shows that consistent preparation, focused resources, mistake analysis, PYQs, and mock practice can steadily improve performance. His experience offers NIMCET aspirants a practical lesson: stay committed to the process, identify your weaknesses, and give yourself enough time to improve.
