The Tata Institute of Social Sciences is a famous university in India. It started in the year 1936. At first, people called it the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. Later, in 1944, the name changed to the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, which people safely shorten to TISS. The government of India helps this college with funds. TISS PG Admission Notice PDF is an information guidebook every year. This book is called the Admission Brochure. It comes as a digital notice PDF file on the official website of the college. This document is very important for every student. It explains all the hidden details about the university rules, the history of the college, and how seats are given to students. The notice clearly mentions that for the 2026 admission. Students will be selected only based on their CUET-PG scores. There will be no extra face-to-face interviews, group discussions, or short speech tests. 

TISS PG Application Form 2026

Students who want to study at TISS need to fill out an application form online. There are strict rules for filling out this form. A student can choose a maximum of three different master's courses across the four campuses of TISS. These campuses are located in Mumbai, Tuljapur, Hyderabad, and Guwahati.

All these choices must be put into just one single online application form. The university says that students must never fill out more than one form. If a student fills out two or more forms, the university will cancel all of them, and the student will not get admission. While filling out the form, students must select the correct exam paper codes that match the courses they want to study.

TISS PG Admission Fee 2026

When a student applies for the courses, they have to pay a certain amount of money as an application fee. The fee changes depending on how many courses the student chooses and which social category the student belongs to. Below is a detailed list of the application fees:

  • General Category Students: Paying for 1 course costs Rs. 900. Choosing 2 courses costs Rs. 1800. Choosing 3 courses costs Rs. 2700. Extra bank charges apply.

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and EWS Students: Paying for 1 course costs Rs. 600. Choosing 2 courses costs Rs. 1200. Choosing 3 courses costs Rs. 1800. Extra bank charges apply.

  • SC, ST, and Eligible Candidates with Low Family Income: Paying for 1 course costs Rs. 500. Choosing 2 courses costs Rs. 1000. Choosing 3 courses costs Rs. 1500. Extra bank charges apply.

Students can pay this money online using a credit card, debit card, UPI, or net banking. If someone wants to pay with physical cash, they can download a special bank paper called a challan. They must take this paper to a branch of the State Bank of India, pay the cash, get a stamped receipt, scan it, and upload it back onto the form.

TISS PG Eligibility Criteria

TISS PG Eligibility Criteria includes the minimum requirements to get admission in the course program. 

  • The student must have passed a basic college degree, which is called a Bachelor's degree.

  • The degree can be a standard 3-year degree spread across 6 semesters.

  • It can also be a longer 4-year Bachelor's degree or an Honours degree with research.

  • Students who are in their final year of college can also apply. However, they must show their final passing marksheet and degree certificate later when the college asks for it. If they fail their college exams, their admission will be cancelled immediately.

  • CUET PG Scores are needed for admission. 

Course Available For TISS PG Admission 2026

There are many different types of courses available at TISS. The courses are divided among different branches called Schools. Here are some of the main courses you can study at the Mumbai Campus:

  • Disaster Studies: Master of Arts or Master of Science in Disaster Management.

  • Development Studies: Master of Arts in Development Studies and Master of Arts in Women's Studies.

  • Education: Master of Arts in Education.

  • Habitat Studies: Master's degrees in Environment, Climate Change and Sustainability Studies, Water Policy, and Urban Policy.

  • Health Systems: Master of Public Health in Health Administration or Social Epidemiology.

  • Management: Master of Arts in Social Entrepreneurship and Labour Studies.

  • Social Work: Master of Arts in Social Work with special focus areas like Children and Families, Mental Health, Criminology, and Livelihoods.

Other off-campuses like Tuljapur offer Social Work in Rural Development. The Hyderabad campus offers Public Policy and Governance, and Guwahati offers Peace and Conflict Studies.

TISS PG Seats Intake

Every course at TISS has a fixed number of seats. The university cannot take more students than the specified limit. Here is the seat count for some popular courses:

  • Master of Arts in Development Studies: 65 seats.

  • Master of Arts / Master of Science in Disaster Management: 40 seats.

  • Master of Arts in Social Work (Rural Development) at Tuljapur: 40 seats.

  • Master of Public Health (Health Administration): 40 seats.

  • Master of Arts in Social Entrepreneurship: 35 seats.

  • Master of Arts in Media and Cultural Studies: 30 seats.

  • Master of Arts in Women's Studies: 25 seats.

  • Master of Arts / Master of Science in Disaster and Climate Risk Assessment: 20 seats.

Documents Required TISS PG Course Admission

When filling out the form and finalising admission, students must upload clean and real copies of their papers. The main papers required are:

  • A recent passport-size photograph of the student.

  • A clear image of the student's signature done on white paper.

  • Caste Certificates for SC, ST, or OBC students if they want reservation benefits.

  • Income Certificates issued by government officers, like a Tahsildar or a District Magistrate to prove the family income.

  • Medical Disability Certificates for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) showing at least 40% disability status.

  • Kashmiri Migrant certificates or Armed Forces certificates if applying under those special categories.

The university checks these documents very carefully. If anyone uploads a fake certificate, the college will expel them immediately.

Students are allowed to apply only for 3 courses maximum.

Is there an interview for general admissions in 2026?

There will be no personal interviews or group discussions for regular students. Selection depends entirely on the CUET-PG exam score.

What happens if a student fills out two separate forms?

If a student submits more than one application form, the university will reject all the forms.

Can final year college students apply for TISS PG?

Students finishing their final year can apply provisionally. They must submit their final passing certificates later.
