Factors Affecting the DU CUET Cut-Off 2026

The DU Cut Off 2026 isn't a static number; it fluctuates every year based on several overlapping dynamic factors:

  • Course Demand: High-demand courses like BCom Honors, Political Science, or BSc Physics/Math tend to have higher cut-offs.

  • College Popularity: Top colleges have higher cut-offs for the same course.

  • Number of Students: More applicants competing for limited seats increase cut-offs.

  • CUET 2026 Exam Difficulty Level: Tougher CUET exams lower cut-offs; easier exams raise them.

  • Available Seats: The number of seats available in the college also impacts cut-offs.

  • Category System: Cut-offs vary by category — General (UR), OBC, SC, ST, PwD, EWS.

  • Percentile and Normalization: CUET Marks Vs Percentile scores and normalization processes (if exam sections vary in difficulty) influence cut-offs.

DU CUET Cut Off 2026 FAQs

1. What is a safe score in CUET 2026 for admission to DU's North Campus?

For high-demand courses like B.Com (Hons), Political Science (Hons), and Economics (Hons) in top North Campus colleges (like SRCC, Hindu, or St. Stephen's), a safe score for General category students is typically 775 to 795+ out of 800.

2. Can I get into Delhi University if I miss the first CSAS allocation round?

Yes. Delhi University releases multiple consecutive allocation lists (Round 1, Round 2, and often Spot Admission rounds) depending on seat availability. However, if you were allocated a seat in Round 1 and failed to accept it, you will be disqualified from participating in any subsequent regular allocation rounds.

3. How does the "Upgrade" option work in the DU CSAS portal?

After you accept an allocated seat and your documents are approved by the college, you pay the admission fee. If you are not satisfied with your current allotment, you can click "Upgrade." This keeps your current seat safe while allowing the system to automatically move you up to a higher-preference college/course combination if a vacancy opens up in the next round.

4. Does DU consider Class 12 board marks for preparing the cut-off merit list?

No. Your admission merit list is calculated solely based on your normalised CUET 2026 scores. Class 12 board marks are only used as a basic eligibility criterion (you must have passed your boards) and as a tie-breaker rule if two or more candidates end up with the exact same CUET score.
