Raja Bhoj International Airport

The airport became the first in the state to use solar energy for its whole electric grid in 2013. Because of its advantageous position, the airport serves as a major entry point for effectively managing a variety of logistics operations across the nation. The Raja Bhoj Airport has CAT VII fire services in addition to normal amenities like electronic gates, immigration desks, check-in counters, and others. It also has night landing capabilities. Additionally, eight new locations for Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities in India have been selected, including the Bhopal Airport.

Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport

Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport is the busiest airport in the state, with first-rate amenities and daily flights to and from outside. 2018 saw the airport start offering night landing capabilities and operating around the clock. With a length of 2,754 meters, the airport has the longest runway in the state. At the moment, the airport is being expanded. On the airport property, a convention center, an airport hotel, and a new terminal next to the existing terminal are all suggested.

Jabalpur Airport

The Dumna Airport, also known as Jabalpur Airport, is the third busiest airport in Madhya Pradesh and spans a vast 960 acres. With a runway length of 2,750 meters, it boasts the second longest in the state. The terminal building at the airport is furnished with a security X-ray machine, night landing capabilities, four check-in desks, and numerous other amenities to guarantee seamless operations and a hassle-free travel experience for guests. The airport is a significant entry point for travelers to several national parks, including Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Nauradehi, Pench, and the recently declared Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve. It serves the entirety of eastern Madhya Pradesh.

Gwalior Airport

With two operational parallel runways and an area of more than 760 acres, Gwalior Airport operates as both an Indian Air Force installation and a civilian airport. Two Airbus A320s and one light aircraft can be accommodated on the apron at the same time with comfort. Although the Gwalior Airport extension has been planned, the development has been greatly delayed for a number of reasons. According to the expansion plans, which are projected to cost about Rs. 446 crore, the airport will include a new 20,000 square meter terminal building with a maximum capacity of 1,400 passengers. Additional plans include for the construction of new buildings including an apron, parking lots, taxiways, and a 2.5 GW solar power plant.

Khajuraho Airport

The Khajuraho Airport, which occupies 590 acres, has a single runway and an apron that can handle four ATR-72, three Airbus A320, and Boeing 737-type aircraft. Three Flying Training Organizations (FTOs) were formally opened at the airport on July 25, 2023, by Union Civil Aviation and Steel Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia. The main air entry point for visitors to the historic Khajuraho, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the Khajuraho Airport, which is located about 3 kilometers from the city center.
