With two operational parallel runways and an area of more than 760 acres, Gwalior Airport operates as both an Indian Air Force installation and a civilian airport. Although the Gwalior Airport extension has been planned, the development has been greatly delayed for a number of reasons. According to the expansion plans, which are projected to cost about Rs. 446 crore, the airport will include a new 20,000 square meter terminal building with a maximum capacity of 1,400 passengers.
