Bihar Bridge Maintenance Policy

3D Metal Parts Development in Bhopal

• India ‘s first 3D metal parts for space and defence will be developed in Bhopal at the Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT) .
• The initiative aligns with the 'Make in India' campaign and reduces dependency on foreign suppliers.

• The new facility can produce metal parts capable of withstanding temperatures up to 3500 degrees Celsius.

• Indian tourists are recognized as a significant future growth driver for global tourism according to the OECD's Tourism Trends and Policies 2024 report.

• OECD economies haven't yet reached pre-pandemic tourist arrival levels, down 23% in 2022 compared to 2019.
• Global tourist arrivals are expected to exceed pre-pandemic levels by 2024, with 2023 figures at 89% of pre-pandemic levels.

• Some OECD countries exceeded pre-pandemic tourist arrivals in 2023:
  • Portugal: 19.4 million international tourists, 12.1% more than in 2019.
  • Colombia: 34% increase compared to pre-pandemic levels.

• Tourism flows and the broader tourism economy are affected by geopolitical conflicts, including Russia's war against Ukraine and conflicts in the Middle East.

• International travel from India increased by 9.5% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2019.
• Travel to Russia decreased by 40%, while travel to Southeast Asian economies increased.
• Inbound passengers to India increased by 8.5% during this period.
