Vinda Karandikar

Vinda, whose real name is Vinda Karandikar, is a writer, poet, translator, and literary critic. He has also written essays that have contributed to Marathi literature. He translated Shakespeare's King Lear and Aristotle's Poetics into Marathi. Akash Cha Arth and Sparshaachi Palvi (1958) are among his finest pieces.

Shivaji Sawant

He is a Marathi novelist. Popularly known as Mrutyunjaykaar (after his popular book Mrutyunjay), Shivaji Sawant is the first-ever Marathi writer that was awarded the Moortidevi Award in 1994. His book Mrityunjay, based on one of the leading characters of the Mahabharat- Karna, received numerous awards and accolades. This book was later translated into Hindi, English, Kannada, Gujarati, and Malayalam. His second well-known book, Chhava, was based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji.

Manik Godghate

Manik Godghate is also popularly known by his pen name, Grace is a famous lyricist of the Marathi song “Bhaya Ithale Sampat Nahi,” sung by Lata Mangeshkar as the title track for the TV serial Mahashweta. His book Varyane was awarded the prestigious Sahitya Academy Award in 2011. His works include Church bell and Mitwaa in prose.

Kusumagraj

One of the greatest Marathi authors was Kusumagraj. His pen name is Kusumagraj, and his full name is Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar. He was a distinguished Marathi author of short stories, plays, novels, and poetry. He was born in Pune, Maharashtra, on February 27, 1912, and passed away in Nashik, Maharashtra, on March 10, 1999, at the age of 87. In 1974, he received the Sahitya Academy Award.
