Sahodrabai Rai

Freedom Fighter Mrs. Sahodrabai Rai was born in Bothrai of Patharia Tehsil of Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh. She participated in Mahatma Gandhi's non-cooperation movement in 1942 at the age of 23 and was arrested, she also worked for Hindu-Muslim unity during 1945 in Noakhali.

Maharani Avantibai

Maharani Avantibai Lodhi was a queen-ruler and freedom fighter. She ruled Madhya Pradesh's Ramgarh as its queen. She was a big opponent of the British East India Company during the revolution of 1857. The information about her is sparse and mostly comes from folklore. In the 21st century, she has been used as a political icon in the Lodhi community in India.

Rani Durgavati

Rani Durgavati was the queen regent of Gondwana in Madhya Pradesh. She was married to King Dalpat Shah, the son of King Sangram Shah of Gondwana. From 1550 to 1564, when her son, Vir Narayan, was still a minor, she held the position of regent of Gondwana. She is mainly remembered for defending Gondwana against the Mughal Empire.

On January 26, 1942, Tantia Bhil was born in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. “Kranti Surya Jannayak Tantya Mama” is another name for him. He was an active freedom fighter who was executed by British forces at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on December 4, 1889. In Madhya Pradesh, the anniversary of his death is commemorated as a sacrifice day.

B.R. Ambedkar

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was also known as Baba Saheb. He served as the head of the constituent assembly's drafting committee and is regarded as the father of the Indian Constitution. He was always against the caste-based discrimination in the society and advocated for the dalits to organize and demand their rights. In addition, he started a vigorous campaign against untouchability and established the Independent Labour Party.

Chandrasekhar Azad

During India's struggle for independence, Chandrashekar Azad, an Indian revolutionary, formed and commanded a group of young militants. At an early age, Azad became involved in the Indian national struggle. When apprehended by the police at age 15 while participating in Mahatma Gandhi’s noncooperation movement at Banaras. Later he gave his name as Azad (“Free” or “Liberated”) and his address as “prison.”
