  • An atomic clock on the Moon will run at a different speed than a clock on Earth.
  • To solve this problem, researchers have proposed creating a lunar time zone that would be based on the Moon's day and night cycle.
About atomic clock -
  • An atomic clock is a clock known for its extraordinary accuracy and works by using the specific resonance frequencies of atoms. Usually cesium or rubidium.

  • It was invented by Louis Essen in 1955.

India ranks fourth in the world in digital services exports

The World Trade Organization (WTO) projects a 9% growth in global digital services exports to reach $4.25 trillion in 2023. Key point-
  • India has jumped 17% to fourth place in exports of digital services.
  • India's growth rate was much higher than the 4 percent growth recorded by China and Germany.
  • According to WTO estimates, global exports of digitally delivered services are set to grow to $4.25 trillion in 2023, u p 9 percent year-on-year, accounting for 13.8 percent of world exports of goods and services.
  • Unlike trade in goods, which fell globally and across all regions in 2023, exports of digitally delivered services continued to grow.
  • The report said exports to Europe and Asia (which hold global shares of 52.4 percent and 23.8 percent respectively) grew by 11 percent and 9 percent.
  • WTO highlights the rapid adoption of AL in digital services, increasing efficiency, innovation, and job creation.

World's largest renewable energy park

Adani Group has set up the world's largest renewable energy park with a capacity of 45 GW in the Khavra region of Gujarat. Key point-
  • Adani Group has built the world's largest renewable energy park in Gujarat.
  • The renewable energy arm of port power conglomerate Adani Group aims to have 45 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
  • The company now has an operational portfolio of 10,934 MW, the largest in India. According to a statement from the company, it has commissioned 2,848 MW of renewable capacity in FY24.
