  • Gugamal National Park

On February 22, 1974, Gugamal National Park was created as a component of the Melghat Tiger Reserve. It is one of seven protected areas in the reserve, which is located in the Amravati, Maharashtra, tehsils of Chikhaldara and Dharni. Gugamal, which is renowned for its biodiversity, is an essential habitat for many species and makes a substantial contribution to regional animal conservation initiatives.

  • Navegaon National Park

Located in Maharashtra's Gondia district, Navegaon National Park is well-known for its biodiversity, especially as the Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, which is home to around 60% of the state's bird species. Its lakes are adorned with thousands of migratory birds every winter. The park's vegetation is classed as Southern tropical dry deciduous forest and ranges from moist woods to dry mixed forests.

  • Pench (Jawaharlal Nehru) National Park

The Pench river that flows through the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru National Park gives it the name Pench Tiger Reserve. Dedicated to protecting habitat, it was founded in 1975 and became the 25th Tiger Project in 1999. Its varied fauna, which includes tigers, panthers, civets, and reptiles like the Indian Rock Python and Russell's Viper, was inspired by "The Jungle Book."

  • Sanjay Gandhi (Borivali) National Park

Located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and covering an area of 87 km2, Sanjay Gandhi National Park was established in 1969 with its headquarters located in Borivali. The park's historical significance is demonstrated by the ancient Kanheri caves, which were dug out of basaltic cliffs by monks more than 2400 years ago. With more than 2 million visitors a year, the park is a well-liked location for nature lovers due to its varied flora and fauna.

  • Tadoba National Park

Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, located in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district, is the state’s oldest and largest national park. Established in 1955, it comprises the Tadoba National Park and Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary. Encompassing 577.96 square kilometers of reserved forest and 32.51 square kilometers of protected forest, the reserve is renowned for its rich biodiversity and serves as a vital habitat for wildlife conservation.
