This sanctuary was created in 1985 with the intention of safeguarding the endangered 6-meter-long, fish-eating gharial type of crocodile. Numerous wildlife species, including Sambar Deer, Blue Bull (also called Nilgai), Peafowl, Chinkara, Wild Boar, Spotted Deer, and others, may be found in the sanctuary. It also has an abundance of native plants, including Boswellia serrata, Pterocarpus Marsupium, Teak, Lagerstroemia parviflora, Sal, Saja, and Haldina Cordifolia Aonla Amaltas.

Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary

Tucked away in the Vindhyachal Mountain Ranges between the Madhya Pradesh districts of Raisen and Sehore is the amazing Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary. Large mammalian carnivores like tigers and leopards, as well as foxes, hyenas, and wild dogs, can find refuge there.
