In May 2009, women officers were first introduced into the Air Traffic Control stream of Army Aviation, and later, Women Officers from the EME took on roles as Engineering Officers in Army Aviation Units.
The demanding responsibility of ensuring maintenance, service, and logistical aspects within Army Aviation is being effectively carried out on par with their male counterparts in this field. After smoothly integrating women officers into the ATC and Engineering Officer streams, the natural progression was to induct Women Officers as Army Aviators.
At present, two women officers are actively serving as pilots in Army Aviation, and three others are undergoing training.
