The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. Originally designed for engineering students, a separate entrance exam for B.Arch students has been introduced. This change allows architecture students to participate in the JEE Main for admission to various architecture colleges.

• Moving forward, JEE Main will be conducted four times annually—twice for engineering students and twice for architecture students.
• JEE Main Paper 2 consists of two papers: Paper 2A for B.Architecture and Paper 2B for B.Planning.
• For JEE Main 2025, NTA will conduct three papers: Paper 1 for BE/B.Tech, Paper 2A for B.Arch, and Paper 2B for B.Planning.
• There are 345 exam centers designated for JEE Main Paper 2 for B.Arch, located both in India and abroad.
• JEE Main Paper 2 is conducted in three languages: English, Hindi, and Gujarati.

B.Arch Admission through JEE Main

B.Arch admission is based on the candidates’ performance in JEE Main Paper 2. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) twice a year. Candidates who have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or hold an AICTE-recognized diploma with Mathematics can register and appear for the exam. Shortlisted candidates then participate in centralized counseling (JoSAA) for seat allocation in top institutes like NITs, SPAs, and select IITs.

B Planning Colleges through JEE Mains

B Planning admissions through JEE Mains are based on candidates’ performance in JEE Main Paper 2B, followed by centralized counseling processes like JoSAA or CSAB. To appear for the exam, candidates must have completed their class 10+2 with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and at least 50% aggregate marks. The selection process involves qualifying the JEE Main cut-off, participating in counseling, and securing a seat based on rank, availability, and preferences. JEE Main Paper 2 Counselling Process 

• There will be six rounds of seat allotment. Upon reaching your rank in any round, you can secure admission to the respective college by submitting required documents and fees.
• Once submitted, you can opt to wait for subsequent rounds to potentially change your allocated seat based on your rank.
• To reserve a seat, candidates are required to pay a partial fee upfront, typically around Rs. 35,000/- for general category students, ensuring the seat remains reserved while awaiting further rounds.
