If two or more candidates obtain equal NTA scores in the JEE Main Paper 2 exam (B.Arch & B.Planning), a tie-breaking method is used to determine the ranks. The tie-breaking method differs for B.Arch and B.Planning. 

1. For B.Arch, the tie is resolved based on the following criteria:

• NTA score in Mathematics
• NTA score in the Aptitude Test
• NTA score in the Drawing Test
• Candidate with a lower proportion of incorrect answers

• Candidate with a lower proportion of incorrect answers in the Aptitude Test
• Older in age

2. For B. Planning, the tie is resolved based on the following criteria:

• NTA score in Mathematics
• NTA score in the Aptitude Test
• NTA score in Planning-Based Questions
• Candidate with a lower proportion of incorrect answers
• Candidate with less proportion of incorrect answers in Mathematics
• Older in age

JEE Main Paper 2 Tie-Breaking Criteria

The JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning) tie-breaking criteria for 2025 are applied when two or more candidates obtain the same total NTA score. The process is explained below. 

• First, the candidate with a higher NTA score in Mathematics is ranked higher.

• If the tie persists, the NTA score in the Aptitude Test is considered.

• Next, the NTA score in the Drawing Test (for B.Arch) or Planning Based Questions (for B.Planning) is used.

• If candidates remain tied, the one with a lower proportion of incorrect to correct answers across all subjects is ranked higher.

• Further, the lower proportion of incorrect to correct answers in Mathematics, then in Aptitude, and then in Drawing/Planning is considered.

• If the tie still remains unresolved after all these steps, priority is given to the older candidate.
