UCEED BDes Admission 2027: Eligibility, Application, Seat Allotment and Counselling

UCEED BDes Admission 2027 will be conducted for admission to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) programmes at seven participating institutes. These institutes are IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur. Only candidates who qualify UCEED 2027 can apply for B.Des. admission.

The UCEED B.Des Admission 2027 process includes filling out the common application form, selecting institutes in order of preference, uploading documents and taking part in joint seat allocation. Seat allotment will be based on the UCEED All-India Rank (AIR), category, institute preferences and seat availability.

UCEED BDes Admission 2027 will start after the official result announcement. Candidates can get seats in the colleges for the B.Des course program based on the scores in the entrance test.

Candidates must meet all three conditions given below for UCEED B.Des Admission 2027.

Age Limit

Candidates belonging to the OPEN, EWS and OBC-NCL categories must have been born on or after October 1, 2002.

Candidates belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category must have been born on or after October 1, 1997.

UCEED Qualification

Candidates must qualify UCEED 2027 and obtain a rank in the examination.

Qualifying Examination

Candidates must pass Class 12 or an equivalent qualifying examination in 2026 or 2027. Candidates who appeared for their qualifying examination for the first time in 2025 or earlier are not eligible.

UCEED BDes Admission Criteria 2027: Stream Requirements

Candidates from the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) can apply to all seven UCEED Participating Institutes 2027.

Candidates from other streams, such as Science without Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts and Humanities, can apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

Candidates appearing for Class 12 in 2027 must complete all parts of the final examination by the date of application. In exceptional cases, candidates whose final examination is scheduled after the application date must contact the UCEED Office.

Proof of passing the qualifying examination must be submitted to the admitting institute by September 30, 2027.

UCEED BDes Application Form 2027

Only UCEED 2027 qualified candidates can apply for B.Des. admission. A common application form will be used for admission to the seven participating institutes.

The UCEED BDes Application Form 2027 will be available through the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal. The link will also be provided on the official UCEED website.

Candidates must enter their personal details and select institutes according to their preference. The application requires digital copies of important documents, such as:

• Photograph

• Signature

• UCEED Score Card

• Class 12 or equivalent mark sheet

• EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST certificate, where applicable

• PwD certificate, where applicable

• OCI/PIO Card, where applicable

Candidates can edit the application form and change their institute preference order until the closing date. After the application deadline, no changes will be accepted.

UCEED BDes Admission Process 2027

Candidates can participate in the admission process after the result announcement. Seat allocation is based on AIR, reservation category, institute preference and available seats.

1. Qualify UCEED 2027 and obtain an AIR.

2. Open the common B.Des. application form through the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal.

3. Enter personal and qualifying examination details.

4. Upload the required documents.

5. Select the participating institutes in order of preference.

6. Submit the completed application form.

7. Take part in the joint seat allocation process.

8. Check the seat allotment result.

9. Pay the required seat acceptance fee if a seat is allotted.

10. Complete document verification and admission formalities at the allotted institute.

UCEED BDes Colleges 2027 and Seat Matrix

UCEED BDes Colleges 2027 include seven institutes. The seat matrix for the previous academic calendar showed a total of 245 seats across these institutes. The final seat matrix for the 2027-28 academic year will be published on the official UCEED website at the time of B.Des. admission.

The final UCEED BDes Seat Matrix 2027 may be different. Candidates should check the official website before applying.

UCEED BDes Reservation 2027

Reservation will be provided according to the Government of India rules. The reservation percentages include:

• GEN-EWS: 10%

• OBC-NCL: 27%

• SC: 15%

• ST: 7.5%

• PwD: 5% horizontal reservation

EWS and OBC-NCL certificates issued on or after April 1, 2027, will be accepted for the 2027-28 admission year.

Candidates must provide valid documents to claim reservation benefits. If false or incorrect documents are found, the candidate may be removed from the admission process or have the admission cancelled.

UCEED BDes Seat Allotment 2027

There will be five rounds of UCEED BDes Seat Allotment 2027. A seat will be allotted based on the candidate's UCEED AIR, category, institute preference and available seats. Candidates who receive their first-choice institute can accept or decline the offer. If a candidate receives a lower preference, the candidate can choose Freeze or Float.

• Freeze means accepting the allotted seat and not taking part in further rounds.

• Float means accepting the current seat while remaining eligible for a higher-preference seat in later rounds.

• Candidates must pay the seat acceptance fee within the given deadline. The fee is ₹65,000 for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates and ₹20,000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. This includes the processing fee of ₹5,000.

UCEED Counselling 2027

UCEED Counselling 2027 process is carried out through joint seat allocation. Candidates must carefully enter their institute preferences because these choices become final after the application deadline.

Seat offers are provisional until the required fee is paid, documents are verified, and all admission formalities are completed.

There will be no spot admission round in the IITs after the counselling process. IIITDM Jabalpur may conduct an institutional spot round if seats remain vacant.
