Getting a UCEED 2027 rank does not automatically confirm admission to a B.Des. programme. Candidates who qualify UCEED 2027 must separately apply for B.Des. admission and participate in the joint seat allocation process. The allotment is based on the candidate's All India Rank (AIR), reservation category, institute preferences and available seats.
Before the UCEED Counselling 2027 process begins, you should keep track of the UCEED notification 2027. PW batches such as PW UCEED Sprint 2027 can also be explored alongside regular UCEED preparation.
The UCEED Seat Allotment Date 2027 schedule includes five rounds. The dates given for the seat allotment rounds are tentative, and any changes will be notified on the official UCEED website.

The seat allocation process can close earlier if all available seats are filled.
The UCEED Seat Allocation 2027 process begins after qualified candidates submit the separate B.Des. admission application. Only candidates who qualify UCEED 2027 can apply for admission to the seven participating institutes.
A common B.Des. application form is used for the participating institutes. You can select your preferred institutes in order, and the seat allocation is then carried out based on:
All India Rank (AIR)
Reservation category
Institute preference
Seat availability
You can edit your application, including institute preferences, until the application closing date. After the deadline, the information and institute choices become final and cannot be changed.
The online application for the B.Des. programme is scheduled from March 15 to April 12, 2027. Candidates can use the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal through the link provided on the official UCEED website.
The application requires digital copies of relevant documents such as:
Photograph
Signature
UCEED Score Card
Class XII or equivalent marksheet
EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST certificate, where applicable
PwD certificate, where applicable
OCI/PIO Card, where applicable
The admission offer made during online seat allocation remains provisional until the required fees are paid, documents are verified, and the admitting institute completes the required formalities.
The UCEED Seat Allotment Round 1 2027 will be announced on April 21, 2027.
Candidates who receive a seat will receive a provisional allotment letter through their registered email. They must follow the instructions to pay the required seat acceptance fee within the specified deadline.
If a candidate does not pay the seat acceptance fee by the deadline or declines the admission offer, the application is cancelled. The candidate will not be considered for later rounds, and the vacant seat may be offered to another eligible candidate.
Candidates who are not allotted their preferred institute in an earlier round may continue through the applicable subsequent rounds, depending on the option they have selected and the applicable rules.

The FLOAT option remains active until the payment deadline of Round 4. After the announcement of the fifth and final round, candidates cannot withdraw or decline an accepted or allotted seat.
The UCEED Counselling 2027 process gives candidates different options depending on the institute allotted to them.
If the allotted institute is the candidate's first choice, they can:
Accept or Freeze: Accept the offered seat and stop participating in further rounds.
Decline: Give up the offer. The current allocation is cancelled, and the candidate will not be considered in subsequent rounds.
Candidates allotted their second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth or seventh choice can select either Freeze or Float.
Freeze: The candidate accepts the allotted institute and does not want to participate in further rounds.
Float: The candidate accepts the current seat but remains eligible for upward movement to an institute placed higher in their preference list. If a higher-preference seat is allotted in a later round, the earlier accepted seat is automatically forfeited.
Candidates receiving a provisional seat allotment must pay the complete seat acceptance amount mentioned in their allotment letter.

Candidates who have paid the seat acceptance fee can withdraw their seat only during the prescribed withdrawal periods.

You should also note that queries by email or phone regarding the status of vacant seats at different institutes will not be entertained during counselling.
You need to qualify UCEED 2027 and separately meet the B.Des. admission requirements. Candidates should also check the UCEED syllabus while preparing for the examination.
For admission to the seven participating institutes, candidates must:
Meet the applicable age requirement.
Qualify UCEED 2027 and obtain a rank.
Pass Class XII or an equivalent examination in 2026 or 2027.
Meet the subject requirements applicable to the institute.
Candidates from Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics can apply to all seven participating institutes. Candidates from other streams, including Commerce and Arts & Humanities, can apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore. IIITDM Jabalpur accepts candidates with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology, while IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee require Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Candidates should keep the following rules in mind during the UCEED Joint Seat Allocation 2027 process:
Failure to pay the seat acceptance fee by the deadline results in cancellation of the allotted seat.
Candidates who decline their first-choice offer are not considered for later rounds.
Candidates choosing Freeze are not considered for subsequent rounds.
Candidates choosing Float remain eligible for a higher-preference institute in later rounds.
A higher-preference allocation through Float automatically cancels the earlier accepted seat.
The seat acceptance fee is paid only once.
The fee must be paid within the deadline for the applicable round.
Withdrawal is permitted only during the prescribed withdrawal period.
Float remains active until the Round 4 payment deadline.
No withdrawal or decline is permitted after the final round announcement.
The seat allotment process may close once all seats are filled.
You should also rely on information published through the official UCEED website for admission and seat allocation updates.
