To get into AFMC in 2025, a student must follow a few steps. First, the student must appear for the NEET UG 2025 exam. After the exam, the student must score well to be included in the AFMC shortlist. If the student's NEET score is more than the AFMC cut off, then the student’s name will be selected for the next round. This next round is called the AFMC screening process. It includes a test called ToELR, a psychological assessment, an interview, and a medical check-up. These steps help the AFMC team to decide who is the best fit for the medical college and the army life.
Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) offers a total of 150 MBBS seats each year. Out of these, 115 seats are for boys and 30 seats are for girls. These 30 seats are especially reserved for female candidates who meet all the eligibility conditions. In addition to this, there are 5 sponsored seats for foreign students through the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
From the total 145 seats available for Indian boys and girls, 10 seats are reserved for candidates from the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories, with 7 seats for SC and 3 seats for ST.
The reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC), which is 27%, is followed as per the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) rules.
Due to the limited number of seats, especially for female students, the AFMC MBBS cutoff for 2025 is expected to be highly competitive.
