Syllabus OF NTSE

• The mental ability test is to judge your power of reasoning, logical sequencing, reading comprehension, etc.
• The SAT section tests how much knowledge you have gained in school reading your textbooks. As different schools (or boards) in India follow different course books, there is no prescribed book or syllabus for NTSE.
• However, you can refer NCERT syllabus for class 9 and 10 for your NTSE preparation.

NTSE Exam Pattern For Stage 1

NTSE Stage 1 is a state-level exam. It has two sections – Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The SAT  has three subjects – Science, Social Science & Mathematics. The number of questions and maximum marks for each of these sections are tabulated below:

You must also note that there is no negative marking in Stage 1 of NTSE exam.

NTSE Exam Pattern For Stage 2

Students shortlisted from Stage 1 of NTSE will be eligible to appear for Stage 2 of NTSE. This stage too has the two sections – MAT and SAT. Just like in Stage 1, the SAT of Stage 2 has three subjects – Science, Social Science & Mathematics. The total number of questions, marking scheme and time duration are tabulated below:

No marks will be deducted for incorrect answers in Stage 2 as well..
